HAPPY SATURDAY!

Today I start in my bedroom to give it a good cleaning. Later this evening we’ll be visiting my Dad and the Newlyweds are supposed to be coming in to spend the night and tomorrow morning with me. They have her cousin’s graduation party to go to and will spend a little time with me before heading home again.

I’m getting a lot done and keeping track of it on my joural page, so check it out if you’d like to see what my vacation is like.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS POPEYE’S BIRTHDAY

Popeye first appeared in 1929, as part of the "Thimble Theatre" comic strip. He jumped to the movie screen in 1933 as an extra in a Betty Boop cartoon titled "Popeye the Sailor". He sang "I'm Popeye the Sailor Man", had his first fight with Bluto over Olive Oyl and said his first words - "Well, blow me down". The spinach growers credit Popeye with increasing spinach consumption by 33% and saving the spinach industry in the 1930s!

TODAY’S SMILE

GOD’S CAKE

Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this", or "Why did God have to do this to me". Here is a wonderful explanation!

A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.

Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake."

"Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers. "Yuck" says her daughter. "How about a couple raw eggs?"

"Gross, Mom!" "Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?"

"Mom, those are all yucky!" To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!

God works the same way. Many times we wonder! why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good!

We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!

God is crazy about you. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.

Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen.

He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.

I hope your day is a "piece of cake!"

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance. .

TODAY’S WORD

Pronunciation: /moo/ n : small grimace or pouting face

TODAY’S REFLECTION

The Lord turned to Gideon and said, "Go with your strength and save Israel from the Midianites. I am the one who is sending you." But Gideon answered, "Lord, how can I save Israel from the Midianites? My family group is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least important membr of my family." The Lord answered him, I will be with you. It will seem as if the Midianites you are fighting are only one man.

Judges 6:14-16

Sometimes we try too hard to assemble and polish the perfect tools to serve God. He doesn't need better tools. He's well-equipped to accomplish what needs to be done. And because the battles we face are spiritual, not temporal, the abilities and talents we add to our arsenal aren't necessarily the ones needed.

What God desires is that we trust Him, and give Him what we already hold in our hands.

Annie Chapman
