TODAY'S THOUGHT

To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary.

To one without faith, no explanation is possible.

St. Thomas Aquinas

HAPPY SUNDAY !

Once again Saturday went by way too fast! Today is my R & R day. I’ll go to church and get my weekly dose this morning and then come home to finish what didn’t get done yesterday…Did I mention that with out my R & R(refreshed and renewed again) I wouldn't be able to start the week ???

There just is never enough time and Monday always comes too soon. I never get bored that’s for sure!

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior

May our dear Lord Bless you all !

TODAY IS …APPLESAUCE CAKE DAY!

Is it cake or is it brownies? Whatever you call it, here's a fun recipe that makes it's own frosting. The base is good, old-fashioned applesauce. If you're energetic, boil your own sliced apples in water with a little lemon juice and sugar to taste. Or do what I do, and hit the nearest market

1/2 cup shortening

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

2 eggs

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 (No.2) can applesauce

TOPPING: 1/2 cup nuts

1 small pkg chocolate chips

2 Tablespoons sugar

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 9"x13" pan. 2. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl (excluding topping) and beat about 1 minute. Pour into greased pan. 3. Mix topping ingredients together and sprinkle over the batter in the pan. 4. Bake for 30 minutes.

TODAY’S SMILE

The crowded cafeteria sported a large sign reading: "Watch Your Hat And Overcoat." Ira sure did. He kept turning every minute, almost choking over his food.

His pal, Barney, kept on eating, without thought of his own coat on the hook. Finally Barney said, "Ira, you Schmuck...stop watching our overcoats."

"I'm only watching mine," replied Ira. "Your's has been gone for over half an hour

TODAY’S WORD

propinquity (noun) [prah-PING-kwi-tee]

1. nearness or proximity: "James' propinquity allowed him to smell her delicate perfume."

2. kinship

3. similarity or affiliation

TODAY’S REFLECTION

It was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.

Romans 4:13

The children of Israel highly respected the law and it played a large part in their lives. In today’s scripture, Paul was telling the early Christians that faith is what makes them heirs to the kingdom, not the law

The Lord may hate the sin we commit, but if we have faith and are willing to repent and try to do our best, we are lovingly forgiven. Our righteousness comes from Jesus' sacrifice for us and it is our faith in God that brings us into the kingdom
