TODAY'S QUOTE

We load up on oat bran in the morning so we'll live forever. Then we spend the rest of the day living like there's no tomorrow

HAPPY TUESDAY!

LAST DAY OF FEBRUARY !

More snow here…about 2 inches I think. It won’t be long and the snow will be history for another year. It’s so nice to think about Spring coming. According to the calendar it’s just 20 days away.

We know that we could still see some snow til April but it won’t be the cold icy snows of January and February.

Quiet evenings at home this week except for going to church tomorrow evening for my ashes and then Thursday after work go for a hair cut. The perm will be all cut off with this one…in a few weeks I’ll probably go and get another one. It sure makes it easier to control this gray hair of mine.

Work is finally picking up. I mean we have men working this week, so that is good! That means I’ll have some actual work to do ! It makes the days go by faster !

Take good care all ! Have a great day !

Another wonderful one on the way !

TODAY IS...FLIP A PANCAKE DAY

Pancake Day is Shrove Tuesday, the day before Lent. In England, housewives always hurried to the church when the bell rang to be "Shriven" for their sins.

But in 1445, a housewife in Olney started her pancakes late. They weren't done when the bell rang, so she ran to church carrying her griddle with her. This started an annual event in England - a pancake race over a 415 yard course from the "town pump" to the church.

This tradition moved to Liberal, KS in 1950 to make it an international race between the two towns

TODAY'S SMILE

A gent from Chicago was on a fishing vacation up north in the Wisconsin woods. He was out fishing on a lake in a small boat and not having much luck. He noticed a man in another small boat that was close by, open his tackle box and take out a mirror. Being curious the man rowed over and enquired, "What is the mirror for?"

"That's my secret way to catch fish," replied the other man.

"I Shine the mirror on the top of the water. The fish notice the spot of sun on the water above and they swim up to the surface. Then I just reach down, net them and pull them into the boat."

"Wow! Does that really work?" exclaimed the guy from Chicago

"You bet it does." was the response. "Would you be interested in selling that mirror? I'll give you $50 for it." offered the big city gent.

"Well, okay." said the country guy. After the money was transferred, the city fisherman asked, "By the way, how many did you catch this week?"

The country local, grinned and said, You're the sixth

TODAY'S REFLECTION

Therefore, prepare your minds for action, be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed

I Peter 1:13

Today's scripture comes from a letter Peter wrote to Christians scattered throughout the land. They were going through hardships, and Peter wrote to encourage them.

If you are facing trials, Peter's advice is worth considering: Prepare your mind for action

Be self-controlled

Set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed

He is with you in all you do.

20 DAYS UNTIL SPRING

Mardi Gras is French for “fat Tuesday”--the final feasting before the fasting of Lent, which begins tomorrow, Ash Wednesday.

Fat Tuesday is also called Shrove Tuesday, a name that comes from the practice of shriving--purifying oneself through confession--prior to Lent.

Many of the names applied to this day relate to food and eating

Delight yourself in the Lord and

He will give you the desires of your Heart

Psalm 37:4

I Love You All !!!

Be Blessed !!!
