TODAY'S THOUGHT

Grace is the fragrance the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.

TODAY'S QUOTE

We grow great by dreams.

 All big men are dreamers.

They see things in the soft haze of a spring day

or in the red fire of a long winter's evening.

Some of us let these great dreams die,

but others nourish and protect them;

nurse them through bad days till they

bring them to the sunshine and light

which comes always to those who

sincerely hope that their dreams will come true.

HAPPY THURSDAY !

We got quite a snow storm yesterday ! 5 or 6 inches of the fluffy white stuff! Today we may get a little more. The weather man called it the whim of the wind across Lake Erie -- Lake effect snow as the lake isn’t frozen over.

I heard from DS#6 yesterday too! He was to the doctor for the lump on his head and it turns out to be a benign cist that is very common and could be caused by a blocked pore that covers over. Thank you all for your prayers for him. He always has to follow up on any and all lumps or bumps to make sure there is no cancer . Thank the good Lord , there is not any !

My prayer group was cancelled due to the storm and it’s rescheduled for next Wednesday. It was a good evening just to stay in and keep warm !

Have a great day ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS... U.S. Weather Bureau’s Birthday

1870 - The United States Weather Bureau was authorized by Congress. We think people always just sat around and talked about the weather, but it took an act of Congress to do something about it! The weather bureau is officially known as the National Weather Service (NWS) and is a department of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration - NOAA

TODAY'S SMILE

Mr. Swiller was known far and wide as a hard-nosed boss who watched his employees like a hawk. He was making one of his regular tours of the factory when he spotted a young man leaning against a pile of boxes just outside the foreman's office.

Since George, the foreman, wasn't around, Swiller stood off to the side and watched to see just how long the young man would stand around doing nothing. The young man yawned, scratched his head, looked at his watch, and sat on the floor. He took out a nail file and began cleaning his nails. Then he stretched, yawned again, and leaned back on the pile of boxes.

Swiller stepped from his hiding place and walked up to the young man. "You!" he boomed. "How much do you make a week?" The young man looked up indifferently. "Two hundred and fifty dollars," he said. Swiller swooped into the cashier's office, took $250 from the cash box, and returned. "Take it," he said, "and get out! Don't let me see you around here again!"

The young man took the cash, put it in his pocket, and left.

Swiller snorted at his lack of remorse, embarrassment, or any other feeling. Then he went looking for George. When he found him, Swiller was red with anger. "That idler in front of your office," Swiller said. "I just gave him a week's pay and fired him. What's the matter with you, letting him stand around as though he had nothing to do?"

"You mean the kid in the red shirt?" George asked. "Yes! The kid in the red shirt!"

"He was waiting for the twenty dollars we owe him for lunch," George said. He works for the coffee shop around the corner
