ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

FEBRUARY 10TH, 2006

TODAY'S THOUGHT

It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not.

 TODAY'S ACTION

Focus on your principles and not the success of the outcome

TODAY'S QUOTE

A look at the past reminds us of how great is the distance, and how short, over which we have come. The past makes us ask what we have done with us

Robert Penn Warren

HAPPY FRIDAY !

TGIF – What a long week it’s been! Thankfully we didn’t get any more snow yesterday, but we are supposed to get more today and tomorrow! It’s been very cold and I’m bogged down by layers of clothes.

The pups went outside after I got home from work yesterday and didn’t know what to make of all the snow. After they sniffed around a bit they were shivering and wanted back in. It’s so deep their short legs just can’t go any further that what has been shoveled .

I do have the Home and Garden show to look forward to on Sunday ! I’ll be taking lots of pictures so you can see the flowers too ! Too bad you won’t be able to smell them though!

Other than that all is very quiet here and that’s not a bod thing . I always enjoy ‘ordinary’ days !

Take good care all !

Have a great day ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS...BOY SCOUT DAY

William Boyce, a Chicago publisher, was lost on a foggy night in London. A good deed by an anonymous boy helped him find his way back to his hotel. The boy refused a tip and identified himself only as a "boy scout". Boyce was so impressed, he met with the founder of the British Scouts. When he returned to America, he founded the Boy Scouts of American on Feb 10, 1910

TODAY'S SMILE

THE FIRST KISS

At the end of their first date, a young man takes his favorite girl home. Emboldened by the night, he decides to try for that important first kiss. With an air of confidence, he leans with his hand against the wall and, smiling, he says to her, "Darling, how 'bout a goodnight kiss?"

Horrified, she replies, "Are you mad? My parents will see us!"

"Oh come on! Who's gonna see us at this hour?"

"No, please. Can you imagine if we get caught?"

"Oh come on, there's nobody around, they're all sleeping!"

"No way. It's just too risky!"

"Oh please, please, I like you so much!!"

"No, no, and no. I like you too, but I just can't!"

"Oh yes you can. Please?"

"NO, no. I just can't."

Pleeeeease?...

Out of the blue, the porch light goes on, and the girl's sister shows up in her pajamas, hair disheveled. In a sleepy voice the sister says: "Dad says to go ahead and give him a kiss. Or I can do it. Or if need be, he'll come down himself and do it. But for crying out loud tell him to take his hand off the intercom button

TODAY'S REFLECTION

I know longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you

John 15:15

When you have a friend whom you can trust, you have one of life's treasures.

You laugh together, cry together, sharing life's joys and sorrows. And even though you may be separated by thousands of miles, you continue to communicate by phone or e-mail and the connection isn't broken.

Being friends with God means we always have a friend who listens and cares and is always there for us.
