TODAY'S QUOTE

We are the wire, God is the current. Our only power is to let the current pass through us

Carlo Carretto

HAPPY SATURDAY !

What can I say –- a good hot cup of coffee and my trusty computer are a little bit of heaven on Saturday mornings!

I want to go out and work in the yard and feel some warm sunshine and maybe even sweat a little. But BRRRCHILL – it’s all covered in snow and freezing out! The only warmth I’m getting this morning is from my fleece pjs and the furnace.

Take good care all !

Have a great day ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS...FERRIS WHEEL DAY !

The first Ferris Wheel was the highlight of the 1893 World's Fair. It was created by Pittsburgh, PA bridge builder, George W. Ferris. Supported by two 140 foot steel towers, its 45 foot axle was the largest single piece of forged steel in the world at the time. The wheel itself was 264 feet high. It had 36 wooden cars that could each hold 60 people. It cost 50 cents per ride - a high price in 1893.

TODAY'S SMILE

A couple goes for a meal at a Chinese restaurant and orders the "Chicken Surprise." The waiter brings the meal, served in a lidded cast-iron pot.

Just as the wife is about to serve herself, the lid of the pot rises slightly and she briefly sees two beady little eyes looking around before the lid slams back down.

"Good grief, did you see that?" she asks her husband.

He hasn't, so she asks him to look in the pot. He reaches for it and again the lid rises, and he sees two little eyes looking around before it slams down.

Sputtering in a fit of pique, he calls the waiter over, describes what is happening, and demands an explanation!

"Please sir," says the waiter, "what you order?"

The husband replies, "Chicken Surprise."

"Ah... so sorry," says the waiter, I bring you Peeking Duck

ONE MORE…

The restaurant where I took my two sons for a meal was crowded with fans watching a sporting event on television. The harried waitress took our order, but more than half an hour passed with no sign of her return.

I was trying to keep my kids from becoming restless when suddenly, shouts of victory came from the bar.

"Hey," commented my 11-year-old, it sounds as if someone just got his food

TODAY'S REFLECTION

For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things

Psalm 107:9

Too often we dream big dreams and make big plans for the future, but when a hurdle appears on the road of simple living, we are afraid to make the leap to surmount it. So we make excuses, hem and haw, and allow our goal to stay in the dim, distant future

Each of us has been given certain talents. When we step out in faith, God will guide us to his plan for our lives. Then we have the choice to either give up in despair or stick to the plan
