ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

FEBRUARY 3rd, 2006

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Am I not destroying my enemies when I make friends of them? Abraham Lincoln

TODAY'S ACTION

Heal a wounded heart. What friendship do you need to mend?

TODAY'S QUOTE

If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant.

Anne Bradstreet

HAPPY ‘FINALLY’ FRIDAY !

A wet day ahead and tomorrow our rain will change to snow. The weatherman says to expect a cold Super Bowl Sunday !

Well, it is still winter and even though I’m ready for Spring, I will just be thankful for all the mild days we’ve had. It’ll be a good weekend to put some soup in the crockpot and stay in and keep warm

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way!

TODAY IS...TAKE A CRUISE DAY !

So many cruise ships, so little time! Taking a cruise has become the vacation of choice for all ages. You don't have to bother with hotels or restaurants - just board your ship and sail away with everything provided. The only problem is... how much food can one person eat

(I’d like to find out)

 TODAY'S TRIVIA

Today is Wear Red Day. The American Heart Association urges everyone to "Go Red for Women." Cardiovascular diseases claim the lives of almost 500,000 women a year

Today is National Carrot Cake

Day 1815 World's 1st commercial cheese factory established, in Switzerland

1862 Thomas Edison, always looking for a way to do something new, came up with this idea: He printed the Weekly Herald and distributed it to train passengers traveling between Port Huron and Detroit, MI. Strange thing is ... it was the first time a newspaper had been printed on a train

1882 Circus owner PT Barnum buys his world famous elephant Jumbo

1946 The first issue of Holiday magazine appeared on this day

TODAY'S SMILE

Ending his sermon, a preacher announced that he would preach on Noah and the Ark on the following Sunday, and gave the scriptural reference for the congregation to read ahead of time.

A couple of boys noticed something interesting about the placement of the story in the Bible. They slipped into the church and glued two pages of the pulpit Bible together.

The next Sunday, the preacher got up to read his text. "Noah took unto himself a wife," he began, "and she was" - he turned the page to continue - "three hundred cubits long, fifty wide and thirty high."

He paused, scratched his head, turned the page back, read it silently, and turned the page again. Then he looked up at his congregation and said, I've been reading this old Bible for near fifty years, but there are some things in it that still amaze me

TODAY'S WORD

 abulia  \ay-BOO-lee-uh\ noun :

abnormal lack of ability to act or to make decisions

Abulia can refer to the kind of generalized indecision that makes it impossible to choose what flavor ice cream you want, though it was created to name a severe medical disorder that can render a person nearly inert.

TODAY'S REFLECTION

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

II Corinthians 4:17

When you are going through a difficult time, you forget that the troubles will not last forever. The apostle Paul suffered many setbacks, and there were times when even his fellow believers worked against him. Every hindrance seemed to strengthen Paul's faith and determination to serve God.

You are not alone in any situation you may face, for you are within God's purpose and he is not going to give up on you.

TODAY'S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER'S ALMANAC

Don't light a candle from the fireplace if you hope to grow rich

45 DAYS UNTIL SPRING

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your Heart

Psalm 37:4

I Love You All !!!

Be Blessed !!!
