 ST. ELIZABETH ANN SETON

She established her first Catholic school in Baltimore in 1808; in 1809, she established a religious community in Emmitsburg, Maryland. After seeing the expansion of her small community of teaching sisters to New York and as far as St. Louis, she died on January 4, 1821, and was declared a saint by Pope Paul VI on September 14, 1975. She is the first native born American to be canonized a saint. Today we look at the aspect of her as teacher. She lived, Colonial America.

Prepare some refreshments, and make only foods that were around at that time.  Colonial Americans did take many traditions from England. Wassail at Christmas is one. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton might have toasted with a glass of wassail on Christmas

 HAPPY WEDNESDAY

OVER THE HUMP DAY !

I finally got the outside decorations down after work yesterday. I was waiting for the rain to stop so they could dry out a little before putting them away. It looks a little drab out there without the red and green of wreaths and flowers.

Work went by pretty fast for the 1st work day of the new year. Today is payroll day and I’ll be the only one in the office so it will be a long one.

School resumes today for a lot of my family , I know the kids are anxious to get back, but I’m not so sure about the adults!

Take good care all !
