HAPPY SUNDAY!

AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR STAR!

May the dear Lord bless you !

We had lots of fun doing our Stroll yesterday and I put lots of pictures up on my journal page this morning. They raised well over 50,000.00 which was their goal. The weather was sunny and in the 60’s – just beautiful!

Today I’ll be playing ‘catch up’ and getting ready for a new week.

Take good care all

Have a great day ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Don’t forget to say a little prayer for our Troops!

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.

Protect them as they protect us.

Bless them and their families for the selfless

acts they perform for us in our time of need.

I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior

TODAY IS...FRENCH FRIES DAY

Are French Fries French?

French fries were probably invented in Belgium, but nobody knows for sure. The word "french" refers to the way that are made. Any food cut up into strips is called "frenched", so potatoes cut into strips and fried were known as French Fried Potatoes.

Maybe McDonald's started calling them French Fries

TODAY'S TRIVIA

1802: John Beckley became the first Librarian of the U.S. Congress. He was paid $2 a day. Not bad, considering in 1802 you could buy a house for $25.00 and a chicken

1845: Edgar Allan Poe's poem "The Raven" was first published, in the New York "Evening Mirror

1924: Carl R. Taylor of Cleveland, OH patented the ice cream cone rolling machine. Ice cream cones in Cleveland in January? Silly idea... but it took off anyway. Don’t you just love those rolled sugar cones

1963: The first members of football's Hall of Fame were named in Canton, Ohio

TODAY'S SMILE

Norman and his wife live in Prince George. One winter morning while listening to the radio, they hear the announcer say, "We are going to have 3 to 4 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even-numbered side of the street, so the snowplow can get through."

Norman's wife goes out and moves her car.

A week later while they are eating breakfast, the radio announcer says, "We are expecting 4 to 5 inches of snow today. You must park your caron the odd-numbered side of the street, so the snowplow can get through."

Norman's wife goes out and moves her car, again.

The next week they are having breakfast, again, when the radio announcer says, "We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park ...........," then the electric power goes out.

Norman's wife says, Honey, I don't know what to do.

Norman says, Why don't you just leave it in the garage this time

TODAY'S WORD

wind·row noun

1. A row, as of leaves or snow, heaped up by the wind.

2. A long row of cut hay or grain left to dry in a field before being bundled. To shape or arrange into a windrow

TODAY'S REFLECTION

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit

Romans 8:1

There is an Irish saying, May all your troubles in the coming year be as short as your New Year's resolutions. At about this time in the New Year, many of you are saying, I can't stay on this diet!.

You made your New Year's resolutions with enthusiasm, but now you are saying I can't

Repeated thoughts or actions wear psychic grooves in our minds that go deeper with each repetition. It takes faith and determination to keep New Year's resolutions Ask God to give you the determination you need, then do your best. You’ll be able to relax, knowing that God is guiding you to walk in the Spirit
