ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

JANUARY 22, 2006

TODAY'S THOUGHT

When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.

Helen Keller

TODAY'S ACTION

Rely on your faith during challening times; be strong and courageous

TODAY'S QUOTE

Smile if it kills you. The physiology of smiling diffuses a lot of anger and angst. It makes your body and soul feel better

Tom Peters

HAPPY SUNDAY!

I’m off to church this morning and then this afternoon one of my dulcimer buddies is having our dulcimer group for dinner and a movie. Another day of good food and good company. This week certainly has been full of blessings.

Next week will be quiet one until the weekend and then we’ll travel down to DS#1’s for the Stroll for Epilepsy and then more birthday celebrations at their house. January is a month of celebrating here.

February only has one family birthday to celebrate. Our Prince Charming will be 2! Then there will also be the Home and Garden show to go to. I can hardly wait to see and smell the awesome flowers they have there.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

ANOTHER INTERNET VIRUS WARNING

I received this warning in an e-mail today

Please Be Extremely Careful especially if using internet mail such as Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL and so on. This information arrived this morning direct from both Microsoft and Norton. Please send it to everybody you know who has access to the Internet. You may receive an apparently harmless email with a Power Point presentation "Life is beautiful."

If you receive it DO NOT OPEN THE FILE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, and delete it immediately. If you open this file, a message will appear on your screen saying: "It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful."

Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC and the person who sent it to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and password. This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon.

AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the antivirus software's are not capable of destroying it. The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself "life owner."

PLEASE SEND A COPY OF THIS EMAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS and ask them to PASS IT ON IMMEDIATELY

I don’t know about you – but I refuse to open any e-mail that I don’t know the sender – seems to be the only safe way to go.

 TODAY IS...COLD CREAM DAY

Is cold cream really cold? Yes, it is - because it's made with a lot of water. The water evaporates when you put it on your warm face, so... it gives you a cooling sensation. It was first made by Galen, a Greek physician living in Rome, in 157 A.D.

His formula was one part wax melted into 3 parts olive oil to soften the skin. The formula has changed over the centuries, but cold cream has always been one of the simplest and safest cosmetics ever made.

TODAY'S TRIVIA

Today is Celebration of Life Day, a day to honor the gift of children and grandchildren,

1983: The Steven Spielberg film E.T. became Hollywood’s top money-making movie, a position it held until 1993 when another Spielberg film, "Jurassic Park," topped it

1984: Apple introduced the Macintosh, the first computer to use point-and-click technology

TODAY'S SMILE

Carly went to the eye doctor to have her eyes checked for glasses. The doctor directed her to read lines of letters with the left eye while covering the right eye. Carly was so mixed up on which eye was which that the eye doctor in disgust took a paper sack, cut out a hole to see through with one eye, put it on her head to cover up the appropriate eye, and asked her to read the letters again.

As he did so, he noticed tears dripping from the bottom of the paper bag. "Look," said the doctor, "there's no need to get so upset about needing glasses." "I know," she cried, But I had my heart set on wire frames

One more…

When my husband and I showed up at a very popular restaurant, it was crowded. I went up to the hostess and asked, "Will it be long?" The hostess, ignoring me, kept writing in her book. I asked again, "How much of a wait?" The woman looked up and said, "About ten minutes."

A short time later, we heard an announcement over the loud- speaker: Willette B. Long, your table is ready
