HAPPY WEDNESDAY OVER THE HUMP DAY!

My monthly dulcimer night was switched to the 26th, so I stayed home last night. The evenings this week are all pretty quiet ones which is a good thing as I don't feel like doing much once I get home from work.  It's supposed to rain and cool down some - the weekend looks like mid 70's and sunny.

Have a great day all !  Another wonderful one on the way !!!

    TODAY IS...

 National Cream-Filled Doughnut Day

Donuts were invented in 16th century Holland. They were called "oil cakes" and had no holes. Brought to America by the Pilgrams, they were renamed "dough nuts" because they were about the size of walnuts. It was a New England sea captain in the 1800's who poked holes in his mother's donuts to eliminate the soggy center. This changed the pastry forever. They all now have holes - except for specialty donuts like the messy cream-filled varieties   AND... Today is "The Waltons" Day, marking the TV show’s debut on this date in 1972

Two friends, one an Optimist and the other a Pessimist could never quite agree on any topic of discussion. One day the Optimist decided he had found a good way to pull his Pessimistic friend out of his way of continual Pessimistic way of thinking. The Optimist owned a huntin' dog that could walk on water.

His plan? Take the Pessimist and the dog out duck hunting in a boat. They got out into the middle of the lake, and the Optimist shot down a duck...the dog immediately walked out across the water, retrieved the duck, and walked back to the boat.

The Optimist looked at his Pessimistic friend and said, "What do you think about that?"

The Pessimist replied, That dog can't swim, can he...
