TODAY'S THOUGHT

You can be sure that the American spirit will prevail over this tragedy   Colin Powell

TODAY'S ACTION

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.   Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands. Protect them as they
protect us. Bless them and their families
for the selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior

TODAY'S QUOTE

What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but, scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.

Joseph Addison

HAPPY TUESDAY!

Yesterday and today are supposed to be in the High 80 degrees here, not much like fall yet.  However, come the end of the week back down to the low 70's.  The annual Apple Festival is this weekend and traditionally we cool down after that.  We usually get rain for the festival.   I'm praying for a sunny day on this coming Sunday !   Have a great day all !  Another wonderful one on the Way!!!

TODAY IS...THE 13TH

There are lots of theories surrounding the number "13" - and why people think it's unlucky. The most popular idea is that there were 13 guests at the Last Supper of Christ - and the 13th was Judas. But, "13" was considered unlucky as far back as five thousand years ago. Whatever the real reason, hotels still skip from the 12th to the 14th floor and never have a room numbered 13

AND...Today is Muppet  Day, marking the TV premier of "The Muppet Show" on this date in 1976. Hosted by Kermit the Frog of "Sesame Street," Jim Henson puppet characters included Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, and The Great Gonzo. The show lasted five seasons in 100 countries. "Muppet Babies," a Saturday morning cartoon show followed for eight years

TODAY'S SMILE

A trucker came into a truck stop cafe and placed his order. He said, "I want three flat tires, a pair of headlights and a pair of running boards"

The brand new blonde waitress, not wanting to appear stupid, went to the kitchen and said to the cook, "This guy out there just ordered three flat tires, a pair of headlights and a pair of running boards. What does he think this place is... an auto parts store?"

"No," the cook said. "Three flats tires means three pancakes, a pair of headlights is two eggs sunny side up and running boards are 2 slices crisp bacon."

"Oh, OK!" said the blonde. She thought about it for a moment and then spooned up a bowl of beans and gave it to the customer.
The trucker asked, "What are the beans for, Blondie?"

She replied, I thought while you were waiting for the flat tires, headlights and running boards, you might want to gas up

TODAY'S REFLECTION

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service...   1 Timothy 1:12

We are His anointed and appointed to make His rounds our rounds; His work our work. Paul here is thanking God that he has been called to a life of responsibility and hardship. There aren't too many of us willing to do that
