  HAPPY SATURDAY!

Today is 'House Blessing' day and I've got potato salad and deviled eggs to make for the campers tomorrow.  I thought I'd never get home from work last night!  I got off work at 4 and was going to get some groceries after work.  Well, the car wouldn't start !  I had to call AAA and have the car towed to the dealership where they  probably won't have it fixed until Tuesday as it's a holiday weekend.  They gave me a 'loaner' car so at least I can get around this weekend and back to work on Tuesday.   Just one of those little annoying things...nothing big like 'Katrina'   I heard from DS#2 yesterday and he had a truck load of supplies and was going home.  His neighbor let him know that at worst it looks like some shingles are off the roof!  We'll keep praying.

Here's a link to 'Peggy's Place' - http://peggiesplace.gospelcom.net/words169.htm just scroll down to her message on 'Labor Day'.  This is one of my favorite sites...lots to read.

Have a great day all !  Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS...LOST DAYS DAY

When England dropped the Julian Calendar to use the Gregorian Calendar, they had to lose 10 days to make the shift. These 10 days were September 3rd thru Septmeber 14th. People rioted in the streets. They thought the government stole 11 days of their lives and wanted them back.

Not to worry... THEY'RE BACK

Today is Search for Tomorrow Day, marking the soap opera’s TV debut on this date in 1951. During 35 years the cast included Don Knotts, Susan Sarandon, and Kevin Kline

TODAY'S SMILE

A young lad is caught stealing soap from the local soap factory.

When the case comes to court the judge decides to make an example of him to discourage other youths from a life of crime.

Judge: "Well, what have you to say in your defense?"

Boy: "Only that I'm sorry your honor."

Judge: "Hrmph. I sentence you to 10 years hard labor, starting immediately."

Boy: "But sir, it was only a few bars of cheap soap!"

Judge: "Consider yourself lucky!--

It could have been . . .

As the coals from our barbecue burned down, my husband passed out marshmallows and long roasting forks to our dinner guests.

Just then, two fire trucks roared by, sirens blaring, lights flashing. They stopped at a house right down the block.

All twelve of us raced out of the back yard, down the street, where we found the owners of the blazing house standing by helplessly. They glared at us with looks of disgust.

Suddenly, we realized that we were all still holding our roasting forks with marshmallows on them....

AND FROM THE NEWS...

President Bush called for zero tolerance on looting, but it wasn't clear if he meant those looting businesses in New Orleans or those looting customers at the nation's gas stations

With gasoline so expensive, maybe this Labor Day weekend, we won't have the usual rush-hour traffic all day in the mall parking lots

  TODAY'S WORD

  exiguous
Pronunciation: /ig-ZIG-yoo-us/
adj : little, meager, scanty

Your knowledge of the subject is uninformed and exiguous

  TODAY'S REFLECTION

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings [pictures] of silver.   Proverbs 25:11

There is no word more fitly spoken than God’s Word. We learn wise lessons that help us make simple living more agreeable.  Keep a picture of the living Christ in your heart, and all your words will be “fitfully spoken.” They will heal rather than hurt
