  A Prayer for Katrina Victims

 Gracious Lord,

We pray for the victims of Hurricane Katrina in this time of great loss and grief. May You comfort the survivors and grieving families. Allow the fear of the people to turn to trust in You, O Lord. Please direct the rescue workers and guide the hands of those who care for the homeless. We pray that aid and support would arrive on every front. May they come with hope, but also with the means to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty and provide comfort to the needy. Provide strength, courage and wisdom to those in authority. Help them make the right decisions in this time of crisis and chaos. We pray that through this tragedy, the human family would stand together in courage and hope for the victims who need You more than ever. In Your merciful name we pray, Amen

    TODAY'S QUOTE

The secret of joy in work is contained in one word - excellence. To know how to do something well is to enjoy it.

Pearl Buck, The Joy of Children, 1964

      HAPPY 'THOUGHTFUL' TUESDAY!

 BACK TO WORK !

It was great to see the family and enjoy an extra day off, but now we're sipping coffee again and heading back to work.     Only 4 days of work this week and I'm sure they will go by fast.  I've an 'ordinary' week ahead as nothing other than work is on the calendar! Hopefully I'll be able to get a lot done around here.  We'll see...

Have a greatday all !  Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY'S SMILE

Three preachers sat discussing the best positionsfor prayer while a telephone repairman worked nearby.

"Kneeling is definitely best," claimed one.

"No," another contended.  "I get the best results standing with my hands outstretched to Heaven."

"You're both wrong," the third insisted. "The most effective prayer position is lying prostrate, face down on the floor."

The repairman could contain himself no longer.  "Fellas," he interrupted, the best prayin' I ever did was hangin' upside down from a telephone pole
