   HAPPY SUNDAY

 BLESS YOUR SPIRIT DAY

AND HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO SON#1 AND HIS WIFE

I'm off to church this morning and then I'll play 'catch up' here at home the rest of the day.  It's been a beautiful weekend here weatherwise.  All is very quiet and getting a lot done.

HAVE A GREAT DAY ALL !  ANOTHER WONDERFUL ONE ON THE WAY !

  FYI

President Bush has declared September 16th a National Day of Prayer and Rememberance.   I found the picture below on the Presidential Prayer Team Site.

Navy Seabees search through rubble on the grounds of a Gulfport, MS church devastated by Hurricane Katrina.  Hundreds of churches met"in exile" last Sunday, gathering in borrowed or outdoor space to worship and praise God. Pray for congregations that have been displaced,
many of whom continue to meet needs cause
by Hurricane Katrina.

   TODAY IS...Patriots Day,

Marking the terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., on September 11, 2001. Today is also the beginning of Emergency Preparedness Week   As we remember that tragic day in September of 2001, we pray for those whose loved ones perished at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and on Flight 93. Comfort their hearts and fill them with hope and courage to face the challenges in their lives. We pray for our country as we continue to rebuild not only structures but also our lives. May we continue to become an even stronger and more unified nation.    To show our remembrance, our strength, our resolve and our love of our country, let's join together again to show we have not forgotten. Light some candles the evening of 9-11-05

and it's  Grandparents Day

Grandparents bestow upon
their grandchildren
The strength andwisdom that time
And experience have given them.

Grandchildren bless their Grandparents
With a youthful vitality and innocence
That help them stay young at heart forever.

Together they create a chain of love
Linking the past with the future.
The chain may lengthen,
But it will never part....

    TODAY'S TRIVIA

September 11 - Grandparents Day. In 1970, a West Virginia housewife, Marian Lucille Herndon McQuade, initiated a campaign to set aside a special day just for Grandparents. In 1978, the United States Congress passed legislation proclaiming the first Sunday after Labor Day as National Grandparents Day. The proclamation was signed by President Jimmy Carter. September was chosen to signify the "autumn years" of life

    TODAY'S SMILE

For their anniversary, a couple went out for a romantic dinner. Their teenage daughters said they would fix a dessert and leave it waiting.

When they got home, they saw that the dining room table was beautifully set with china, crystal and candles, and there was a note that read: "Your dessert is in the refrigerator. We are staying with friends, so go ahead and do something we wouldn't do!"

"I suppose," the husband responded, we could clean the house

Shouting Your Prayers!

Two young boys were spending the night at their grandparents' house. At bedtime, the two boys knelt beside their beds to say their prayers.

The youngest one began praying at the top of his lungs, "I PRAY FOR A NEW BICYCLE. I PRAY FOR A NEW NINTENDO. I PRAY FOR A NEW VCR..."

His older brother leaned over and nudged the younger brother and said, "Why are you shouting your prayers? God isn't deaf."

To which the little brother replied, No, but Gramma is

   TODAY'S REFLECTION

The Lord himself will go before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forget you. Don't be afraid and don't worry

Deuteronomy 31:8

If we can come to grips with the reality that we are secure in Christ ... we'll realize that nothing of a temporal nature will ever meet this very real need [for security]. There's no reason to "do" or to "acquire" for the sake of security, because the need has already been met. What I would call the "temporal toys" will never satisfy anyway. Knowing we're secure can also solve the problem of discontent by freeing us to choose to be content
