 TODAY'S THOUGHT

No matter how sad you are today, happiness and laughter and even joy are distinct possibilities for tomorrow, or if not tomorrow, the day after that

TODAY’S QUOTE

For everything there is a season, a time for meeting, a time to say goodbye. For everything there is a season, a time for loving, a time for letting go. In all things God is near, always guiding your way.

HAPPY WEDNESDAY !!

OVER THE HUMP DAY!

How great to be starting the work week on a Wednesday ! I had such a nice little vacation and got plenty of rest for sure. I did put pictures in my Good Morning Sunshine journal when I got back home on Tuesday afternoon. So if you want to take a look at them just click on the link at the end of this e-mail and then scroll down to Tuesday’s entry.

I had a lovely surprise when I got home on Tuesday and found that my next door sister was busy this past weekend with putting our porch and patio rugs out and then even planting a few flowers in my pot on the porch step. Thanks Sis ! It all looks great !

It won’t be bad only working 3 days this week. But next week will be a long 5 day-er and that will not be pleasant at all. I could get used to working 3 days a week for sure.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU !

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY IS…KITE FLYING DAY

It's hard to guess who flew the first kites. But, we can date kites as far back as 3000 years ago in China - they were made from bamboo and silk and were first used by the military. Over the centuries, kites have been reproduced around the world for many different reasons. They took on mystical and religious meaning in most of Asia and were used in scientific experiments in the US (remember Ben Franklin). Most of all, they have provided endless hours of outdoor fun.

1. Characterized by or given to vulgar humor; coarse.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

1 Peter 1:18-25.

Praise the Lord, Jerusalem—Ps 147:12-15, 19-20.

Mark 10:32-45.

Jesus was walking ahead of them.

To be a disciple of Jesus is to be baptized and to follow him. It is a path to glory, but not the kind of glory most people recognize. It is a glory that is found in letting go of narrow and distorted desires, the ones associated with the violence of being a winner at the expense of others.

No wonder the disciples in Mark’s gospel are ‘amazed’ and ‘afraid’ and not getting it. Jesus invites us to discover another kind of glory—where the flourishing of other people is not a threat to our flourishing. In fact, the full human flourishing of others transforms and makes possible our own.

Let us pray that the gift of the Spirit will transform our desire so that we may become more truly an image of God.
