ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

MAY 15TH, 2008

TODAY'S THOUGHT

God has put something noble and good into every heart which His hand created.

Mark Twain

TODAY’S ACTION

Every day, remind yourself of your own ability, of your good mind, and affirm that you can make something really good out of your life

TODAY’S QUOTE

Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he isn't. A sense of humor was provided to console him for what he is.

H Walpole

HAPPY THURSDAY !!

The Good News is that my laptop is working and the bad news is that the big computer is now with the computer geeks at Best Buy. I have an extended warranty plan for it so that is ok. They will fix it one way or the other.

I was a little worried after I unplugged everything that maybe I wouldn’t have the wireless connection and my phone would be out as I have an internet phone, but everything works so that is great.

The scary part will be plugging everything back in when I get it back. Hopefully someone will help me out with that one. I know DDIL#5 knows how as she helped do it all when we moved the furniture around last.

I’m just really thankful that one of my computers is working now.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU!

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY IS…TONE DEAFNESS DAY

Tone deafness means that everything sounds exactly the same. You can't tell one note from another, but even worse... you can't even hear the different inflections in someone's voice. It can make communicating difficult just like being color blind can make it hard to follow traffic lights. People make jokes about being tone deaf, but it's really very rare. Not being able to carry a tune in the shower doesn't qualify.

TODAY’S SMILE

In ancient times a king decided to find and honor the greatest person among his subjects. A man of wealth and property was singled out. Another was praised for his healing powers; another for his wisdom and knowledge of the law. Still another was lauded for his business acumen.

Many other successful people were brought back to the palace, and it became evident that the task of choosing the greatest would be difficult. Finally, the last candidate stood before the king. It was a woman. Her hair was white. Her eyes shown with the light of knowledge, understanding, and love. "Who is this?" asked the king. "What has she done?"

"You have seen and heard all the others," said the king's aide. "This is their teacher." The people applauded and the king came down from his throne to honor her.

2. Anything that confines or restrains; a restraint.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

The Lord will give him a seat with the leaders of his people.

Psalm 113:8

Runaway emotions can cause us to fall far short of Jesus' command, ''Love your neighbor as yourself'' (Mk 12:31), let alone the even more demanding commandment in today's Gospel: ''Love one another as I love you.''

Yet when we are angry or hurt or irritated, Jesus still charges us, ''Remain in my love.'' This means giving brothers and sisters in Christ the benefit of the doubt, correcting error with compassion, and expressing convictions charitably. When we do what the Lord commands, we will be His ''friends.''

And that's one goal worth fighting for.
