MAY 6TH, 2008

TODAY'S THOUGHT

He who has courage and faith will never perish in misery.

Anne Frank

TODAY'S ACTION

God, give me the courage to seek new solutions to old problems, and the ingenuity to turn weeds into roses

TODAY'S QUOTE

Life can be marvelous. Try not to miss it!

HAPPY TUESDAY !!

Monday was a beautiful day, and of course I was working.  It would have been nice to have that kind of weather at the campground Saturday, but we have no control over the weather for sure.

Today will be another busy day at work and we may see a few showers but it will still be in the low 70’s.  Warmth is good!

I went to the attic and brought down a few more of my warm weather outfits in the hopes that finally I can put away the winter stuff.  My snow shovel is still sitting outside the back door and I think it is finally safe to put that away too.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU !

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS...HOAGIE SANDWICH DAY

How did the hoagie sandwich get its name? There's an area of Philadelphia known as Hog Island that was a shipyard during World War I. The Italian immigrants who worked there brought giant sandwiches for lunch - made with cold cuts, spices, oil, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and peppers. These workers were nicknamed "Hoggies". Over the years, the name was attached to the sandwich with a different spelling

TODAY'S SMILE

A Mother

Somebody said that a child is carried in its mother's womb for nine months.

Somebody does not know that a child is carried in its mother's heart forever.

Somebody said it takes about six weeks to get back to normal after you've had a baby.

Somebody doesn't know that once you're a mother, normal is history.

Somebody said you learn how to be a mother by instinct.

Somebody never took a three-year-old shopping.

Somebody said being a mother is boring.

Somebody never rode in a car driven by a teenager with a driver's permit.

Somebody said if you're a "good" mother, your child will "turn out good."

Somebody thinks a child comes with directions and a guarantee.

Somebody said "good" mothers never raise their voices.

Somebody never came out the back door just in time to see her child hit a golf ball through the neighbor's kitchen window.

Somebody said you don't need an education to be a mother.

Somebody never helped a fourth grader with his math.

Somebody said you can't love the fifth child as much as you love the first.

Somebody doesn't have five children.

Somebody said a mother can find all the answers to her child-rearing questions in the books.

Somebody never had a child stuff beans up his nose.

Somebody said the hardest part of being a mother is labor and delivery.

Somebody never watched her "baby" get on the bus for the first day of kindergarten, wave good-bye as you leave her at the college dorm, or watch her walk down the aisle.

Somebody said a mother can do her job with her eyes closed and one hand tied behind her back.

Somebody never organized a giggling birthday sleepover with 12 friends.

Somebody said a mother can stop worrying after her child gets married.

Somebody doesn't know that marriage adds a new son or daughter-in-law to a mother's heartstrings.

Somebody said a mother's job is done when her last child leaves home.

Somebody never had grandchildren.

Somebody said your mother knows you love her, so you don't need to tell her.

Somebody isn't a mother.

Sooo....I send this with an "I love you!"

to all the Moms in my life!! :-)

TODAY'S REFLECTION

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Matthew 6:34

We have a tendency to rush through life, trying to fit in all our appointments, chores, and recreation. We leave so little time between these things that we miss many opportunities. Jesus never seemed to rush.

Even when he was on his way to help the daughter of a synagogue leader, he took time to stop and help the woman who had touched the hem of his garment In today's Scripture, Jesus is cautioning us not to rush ahead to tomorrow with our worries, but to take life slowly — live and enjoy today.

If life has caught you in its whirlwind of work, perhaps you need to:

Slo-o-o-w down, relax a bit and see what you are missing.

Revise your agenda, perhaps eliminate some of the items or delegate some of the work.

Consider what is important, asking God's guidance, then slow down and take time to listen for that "still, small voice." http://www.ourprayer.org
