HAPPY MONDAY !!

It’s a great morning in the neighborhood! I’ve got my computer back from the ’geek squad’ and it is working MARVELOUSLY !

Today begins a very long work week with 2 payrolls to do. I’ll do one today, another one on Friday. I am just very thankful that I have my weekends at my little ‘place in the woods’ to get that extra R & R that I need so much.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU !

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY IS…BAND-AID DAY

In 1876, Robert Johnson was a 31-year-old pharmacist in Brooklyn. He attended a lecture about germs - and got a brilliant idea. With his brothers, he formed a company they called Johnson & Johnson. Until 1920, they only made surgical dressings for hospitals. This changed because one of their workers had a clumsy wife. While finding a way to cover her small cuts and burns, the band-aid was invented

TODAY’S SMILE

A parable is told of a farmer who owned an old mule. The mule fell into the farmer's well. The farmer heard the mule 'braying' - or - whatever mules do when they fall into wells.

After carefully assessing the situation, the farmer sympathized with the mule, but decided that neither the mule nor the well was worth the trouble of saving. Instead, he called his neighbors together and told them what had happened. . .and enlisted them to help haul dirt to bury the old mule in the well and put him out of his misery.

Initially, the old mule was hysterical! But as the farmer and his neighbors continued shoveling and the dirt hit his back. . .a thought struck him. It suddenly dawned on him that every time a shovel load of dirt landed on his back. . .HE SHOULD SHAKE IT OFF AND STEP UP!

This he did, blow after blow. "Shake it off and step up. . .shake it off and step up. . .shake it off and step up!" he repeated to encourage himself. No matter how painful the blows, or distressing the situation seemed the old mule fought "panic" and just kept right on SHAKING IT OFF AND STEPPING UP!

You're right! It wasn't long before the old mule, battered and exhausted, STEPPED TRIUMPHANTLY OVER THE WALL OF THAT WELL! What seemed like it would bury him, actually blessed him. . .all because of the manner in which he handled his adversity.

THAT'S LIFE! If we face our problems and respond to them positively, and refuse to give in to panic, bitterness, or self-pity. . .THE ADVERSITIES THAT COME ALONG TO BURY US USUALLY HAVE WITHIN THEM THE POTENTIAL TO BENEFIT AND BLESS US! Remember that FORGIVENESS - FAITH - PRAYER - PRAISE and HOPE. . .all are excellent ways to "SHAKE IT OFF AND STEP UP" out of the wells in which we find ourselves!

TODAY’S WORD

tirade \TY-raid; tih-RAID\, noun:

A long angry speech; a violent denunciation; a prolonged outburst full of censure or abuse.

Tirade comes from French, from Italian tirada, properly, "a pulling"; hence, "a lengthening out, a long speech, a tirade," from tirare, to pull, to draw.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

The stone that the builders rejected became the cornerstone. The Lord did this, and it is wonderful.

Mark 12:10-11

It is very easy in our society to allow advertisers and entertainers to sway our opinion about value. We are bombarded with visual and auditory images of what we “should” hold to be worthy, desired, or even “needed”.

We have forgotten that God will give us the gifts to do that which we are called to do There are many different ways to define value, yet I think if we prayerfully approach our thoughts about what is valuable, we will find that very little about that which is actually of value in this world has to do with price, or worldly desire.

When we take the time to adjust our thoughts in this way, we make better decisions, we teach our children better lessons, and we become better examples of God’s light in this world. A wonderful side effect of this way of thinking is a greater sense of self-esteem, or self-value, because we are now living by God’s sustaining standard. And all you’ve got to do is change your thinking about yourself in the world!
