ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

NOVEMBER 8th, 2OO7

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Compassion calls for appreciating not only what comforts us, but what pierces us. It’s why the sweetest people are often those who have been most wounded by life. They know what it feels like and almost can’t help but care.

Marc Ian Barasch

TODAY’S ACTION

Never mistake knowledge for wisdom. One helps you make a living, the other helps you make a life.

Sandra Carey

TODAY'S QUOTE

A mind once stretched by a new idea never regains its original dimension.

Oliver Wendell Holmes

HAPPY THURSDAY!!

I think I'm now up and running properly on my new computer. DDIL#4 notified me yesterday that they were not geting this newsletter. Well I checked my address book and quite a few of my family were not in it. Now I hope you are !

I thought I had it all set, but for some reason those names were not there.

The roofer left his estimate in the mail box today and it's not too bad, so I guess the garage will be getting a new roof soon. He said that we didn't have a perimeter flashing for wind uplift and that is why the wind took it off Tuesday.

They will install that along with the roof and also come in the spring and spray it with a protective UV coating.

Tonight is my bible study at church, It was a short one last time, so we'll see what we learn tonight. Any little bit I can learn is alwayshelpful.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY’S SMILE

A man is flying in a hot air balloon and realizes he is lost. He reduces height and spots a man down below. He lowers the balloon further and shouts: "Excuse me, can you tell me where I am?"

The man below says: "Yes, you're in a hot air balloon, hovering 30 feet above this field."

"You must work in Information Technology" says the balloonist.

"I do" replies the man. "How did you know."

"Well" says the balloonist, "everything you have told me is technically correct, but it's no use to anyone."

The man below says "you must work in business."

"I do" replies the balloonist, "but how did you know?"

"Well", says the man, "you don't know where you are, or where you're going, but you expect me to be able to help. You're in the same position you were before we met, but now it's my fault

ONE MORE...

We do dislike the rich, but we all buy lottery tickets.

TODAY’S WORD

fealty \FEE-uhl-tee\, noun:

1. Fidelity to one's lord; the feudal obligation by which the tenant or vassal was bound to be faithful to his lord.

2. The oath by which this obligation was assumed.

3. Fidelity; allegiance; faithfulness.

Fealty comes from Old French fealté, from Latin fidelitas, "fidelity," from fidelis, "faithful," from fides, "faith," from fidere, "to trust."

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Psalm 20:7

The prophet Isaiah warned Judah’s King Hezekiah of this truth. Hezekiah was a good king, but he repeated the sin of his father Ahaz by seeking security in an alliance with an alien power.

Instead, he should have been encouraging his people to trust in the Lord By seeking help from Egypt, Hezekiah showed that he had failed to learn from history.

Egypt had been anything but an ally to Israel. Hezekiah had also forgotten Scripture. Amassing horses for cavalry units was against the divine constitution for the king Ultimately, Hezekiah did seek help from the Lord

May our trust always be in the name of the Lord our God
