FOR FRIDAY - NOVEMBER 9TH, 2007

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

NOVEMBER 9th, 2OO7

TODAY'S THOUGHT

The three grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, someone to love, and something to hope for.

Alexander Chalmers

TODAY’S ACTION

Smiling is infectious, you catch it like the flu.

When someone smiled at me today,

I started smiling to.

: o ) : o ) : o ) : o ) : o )

I passed around the corner, and someone saw my grin -

When he smiled I realized, I'd passed it on to him .

 : o ) : o ) : o ) : o ) : o )

I thought about that smile, then I realized its worth,

A single smile, just like mine, could travel round the earth.

 : o ) : o ) : o ) : o ) : o )

So, if you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected -

Let's start an epidemic quick and get the world infected !

TODAY'S QUOTE

Always hold your head up, but be careful to keep your nose at a friendly level.

Max L. Forman

HAPPY FINALLY FRIDAY !!

It was another busy day at work yesterday and from the stack on my desk , it will be again today.  I'm so glad it is finally Friday, I do need a break.

I may be going to visit 'the Newlyweds' tomorrow along with DD and her hubby, we just don't know yet as he may have to work.

We'll see...

Our weather is supposed to be in the mid 50's for a few days with lows at night down in the 30's.  Not too bad at all.

They are supposed to put our new roof on the garage today.  Guess we never know what will happen next, but to be sure, something will.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. 25 WORDS God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…NEON LIGHTS DAY

Neon is an inert, gas. British chemists Sir William Ramsey and Morris Travers discovered the element in the atmosphere in 1898 and named it neon for the Greek word that means "new". Little or no use was made of neon until l910 when Georges Claude experimented with passing an electrical charge through the neon gas. He received a patent for the Neon Sign on this day in 1911. Las Vegas is so glad he did!

TODAY’S SMILE

While driving in Pennsylvania, a family caught up to an Amish carriage. The owner of the carriage obviously had a sense of humor, because attached to the back of the carriage was a hand printed sign . . . Energy efficient vehicle. Runs on oats and grass. Caution: Do not step on exhaust.

One More....

When you were a little kid remember how hard it was to get a cookie? Way in the back, unless your mom was really mean - then they'd be on top of the refrigerator.

Nowhere on a package of Oreos does it say, 'Keep out of reach of small children.' Where's the Liquid Drano? Under the sink, right next to the rest of the poisons.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

We have spoken openly to you, our heart is wide open.

2 Corinthians 6:11

To many people, “living large” means to own the best possessions, to take the most exotic vacations, to buy whatever you want, to live life extravagantly.

Followers of Jesus Christ are to live large in a different way, as seen in the example of the apostle Paul and of his co-worker Timothy. They had given their wholehearted affection to the people, just as a father does to his children as he wraps them in his arms. Now they wanted the same response. So Paul requested, “Now in return for the same . . . you also be open”(v.13).

A large-hearted person shows his affection with his words and actions—freely and generously. As believers, let’s live large today and freely welcome and embrace others in love
