HAPPY MONDAY!!

and

 Happy Birthday to DDIL#1

May the dear Lord bless you today and always.

After a very wet Sunday today is supposed to look about the same I fear. Dark gloomy and wet. We always get this kind of weather in the fall, but somehow I forget just how dreary it really is.

I've taken to burning lots of candles here at home to add a bit of a warm glow to the place, but at work we have those terrible florescient lights and no candles.

DD and I went shopping after church yesterday so now my Christmas list has a few less things on it, but Ido need many more gifts yet. I want to be done by next weekend and then I'll do the wrapping and Chrismas cards and decorating after Thanksgiving. Sounds great doesn't it?? We'll see if I get that far.

The only thing I have on the calendar for after work this week is a meeting at Church Tuesday evening. I hate going out in the dark, but this is important and hopefully won't last too long.

If you are not getting this newsletter everyday, may I suggest that you make sure my e-mail address is in your computer's address book. Some of the mail is being returned to me because they think I'm spamming. Also, just a reminder, if at any time you are tired of receiving this e-mail every day, please let me know and I'll remove your name from the mailing list.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

I have a special prayer request from My Sunshine Babes - DDIL#4's mom is in the hospital and they found a blockage to her heart so will be having a stint put in. Please pray for a successful surgery for her and a speedy recovery. We always pray in all things, thy will be done Lord.

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…PIZZA BUT NO ANCHOVIES DAY

The word pizza comes from the Latin word picea which the Romans used to describe the blackening of bread in an oven. The world's first true pizzeria "Antica Pizzeria Port'Alba" opened in 1830, and is still in business today in Naples. An Italian immigrant named Gennaro Lombardi opened the first U.S. pizzeria in 1895 in New York City. Pizza is now consumed all over the world - with or without anchovies!

TODAY’S SMILE

Saint Francis of Assisi once invited a young monk to join him on a trip to town to preach. Honored to have received the invitation, the young monk readily accepted. All day long he and Francis walked through the streets, byways, alleys, and even the suburbs. They rubbed shoulders with hundreds of people.

At the day's end, the two headed back home. Not even once had Francis addressed a crowd, nor had he talked to anyone about the gospel. Greatly disappointed, his young companion said, "I thought we were going to town to preach."

<FONTFACE="COMIC size="4" color="#663333" MS? Sans>Francis responded, "My son, we have preached. We were preaching while we were walking. We were seen by many and our behavior was closely watched. It is of no use to walk anywhere to preach unless we preach everywhere as we walk!"

One more...

One day a lady criticized D. L. Moody for his methods of evangelism in attempting to win people to the Lord. Moody's reply was "I agree with you. I don't like the way I do it either. Tell me, how do you do it?"

The lady replied, "I don't do it." Moody responded "I like my way of doing it better than your way of not doing it."

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Then the LORD answered me and said … there is still a vision for the appointed time; it speaks of the end, and does not lie. If it seems to tarry, wait for it; it will surely come, it will not delay.

Habakkuk 2:1a, 3

We need to understand that we are not alone and that God is in control. The justice of God isin God's own time and not our own..

In the message from Habakkuk, the prophet was calling out to God about why unjust things happen to the just. What God answered is that justice will come when it is meant to come, not sooner and not later.

Take a few moments each morning and say this phrase

I am in the hands of God, and in God's time all things will be made well.

Allow the truth of these words to seep into the core of who you are. Recognize this truth and relax not because all the difficulties of life have been taken care of, but because you know they will be as we place our trust in God's timing.
