ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

 WEDNESDAY, JULY 13, 2005

 TODAY'S THOUGHT

You can’t light a candle to show others the way
without feeling the warmth of its small little flame.
And you can’t pluck a rose all fragrant with dew,
without part of its fragrance remaining with you.

TODAY'S QUOTE

More powerful than the will to win is the courage to begin.   Anonymous

  HAPPY WEDNESDAY

OVER THE HUMP DAY !

It was cloudy all day yesterday, and today is supposed to be more of the same with a chance of showers.  We're getting the house painted, and they got the power wash done and now have to wait for some SUN to paint.  I'll try to take some pictures so you all can see the progress !   We do need the rain badly.   Tomorrow evening my 'Summer' Bible Study group is supposed to meet for a picnic dinner at the park and review of our study, but we'll see...more rain predicted.   We'll just have to make our own sunshine !

Take good care all !

Have a great day !  Another wonderful one on the Way !

    TODAY IS...BISON LOVERS DAY

Before settlers moved across the continent, their herd size was about 30 million animals that provided meat, clothes, shoes, houses, and tools for Native Americans. Unregulated killing reduced their number to about 1,500 by the late 1800s. Legal protection and refuge preserves have helped restore the population to over 350,000 animals today

God will put them together for me, cause God knows what I'm thinking

Needing to shed a few pounds, my wife and I went on a diet that had specific recipes for each meal of the day. We followed the instructions closely, dividing the finished recipe in half for our individual plates. We felt terrific and thought the diet was wonderful - - we never even felt hungry!

But, then we realized we were gaining weight, not losing it, so I checked the recipes again. There, in fine print, was:   Serves 6.
