 TODAY'S THOUGHT

What you risk reveals what you value.

 Jeanette Winterson

 TODAY'S ACTION

Reflect upon the choices you have made

TODAY'S RESOLUTION

When I forget how much My God loves me,
I remember His walk.
When I wonder if I can be forgiven,
I remember His walk.
When I need reminding of
how to live like Christ,
I think of His walk.
And to show Him how much I love Him,
I wake up each morning, turn my
eyes to Jesus.
And I walk.

TODAY'S QUOTE

A good scare is worth more to a man than good advice.

Edgar Watson Howe

HAPPY THANKFULLY THURSDAY !

Our painter did come yesterday, but other than finding out that his paint sprayer wouldn't work right, not much painting got done.  And he didn't start til 11:00 in the morning and didn't finish til after 5 and all he got done was taping paper around the windows !  S L O W...   I shouldn't complain, but I'm anxious to get it done - the house will look really nice when it's finished !  Seems like the good Lord is always trying to teach me patience !   I'm taking some pictures of the progress as we go and will post them on my journal page.   So...today I'm sitting here being very thankful that wrinkles don't hurt !

 HAVE A GREAT DAY !

ANOTHER WONDERFUL ONE ON THE WAY !

TODAY IS...MAKE A SCARECROW DAY

The most famous scarecrow may be in the "Wizard of Oz", but they can be found all over the world. Their name comes from using a device to scare away crows, but they are really used to keep any bird or animal from disturbing seeds, shoots and fruit. They can also be used at your house to welcome guests or just to decorate your yard

How to Make a Scarecrow
A regular kitchen broom
A cross piece for arms (yard stick, pvc pipe, wood)
Duct tape
Gloves
Rubber bands
Any kind of old clothes
1. The bristle end of the broom is the head. Measure 6 inches down the broom handle and mark with a pen. Tape your cross piece for the arms at the mark by wrapping the duct tape in X's front and back.

2. Dress you scarecrow any fun way you like. You can use a dress, t-shirt, sports jacket, overalls or anything else you have on hand. If you use overalls, cut a hole in the seat for the broom stick to go through. Add gloves to the end of the arms last and secure with rubber bands.

3. You can stuff or not stuff your scarecrow. Garbage bags make good stuffing if you don't have bales of straw. Secure any openings with rubber bands or duct tape as you go.

4. Finishing touches could be a hat, sunglasses, earrings or drawing on a face. When complete, just stick the broom handle in the ground wherever you want your scarecrow to stand.

TODAY'S SMILE

A boy was assigned a paper on childbirth and asked his parents "how was I born?" "Well honey..." said the slightly prudish parent, "the stork brought you to us."

"OH," said the boy. "Well, how did you and daddy get born?" he asked.

"Oh, the stork brought us too." "Well how were grandpa and grandma born?" he persisted.

"Well darling, the stork brought them too!" said the parent, by now starting to squirm a little in the Lazy Boy recliner.

Several days later, the boy handed in his paper to the teacher who read with confusion the opening sentence:

This report has been very difficult to write due to the fact that there hasn't been a natural childbirth in my family for three generations

My four-year-old likes to say the blessing at mealtimes, usually repeating the same short prayer: 'Thank you, God, for this gracious food. Amen.'

One evening, however, he thanked the Lord for the birds, the trees, each of his friends, and asked God to watch over his family and help them to be good. I was thrilled that he was finally praying from the heart.

But after the 'Amen,' he took a spoonful of stew, gasped, then dropped his spoon into the bowl.

I should have said a longer prayer, he said. My food is still too hot

TODAY'S REFLECTION

God has appointed...apostles...prophets ...teachers...workers of miracles...gifts of healing...those able to help others...those with gifts of administration...

1 Corinthians 12:28

There is no shame in being in our place, wherever or whatever that is.

There is a story of the pocket watch that went to London with its owner. It became dissatisfied as it looked at Big Ben, the immense tower clock of London. "I wish I could be up there," the watch mused. "I could serve the multitude." Suddenly the little watch had its wish and was drawn up to the tower and it became invisible. Its rise became its demise.

TODAY'S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER'S ALMANAC

If fowls roll in the sand, rain is at hand

JULY 21- THE FULL BUCK MOON Some Native American tribes referred to July's full moon as the Full Buck Moon, indicating the time when the bucks began growing new antlers. This full moon was also known as the Full Thunder Moon, because thunderstorms are so frequent during this month.
