TODAY'S THOUGHT
Joy runs deeper than despair. Corrie ten Boom
TODAY'S ACTION Hold on to what is good.
TODAY'S RESOLUTION
I will consider myself truly blessed.
If there's something which must be done, that
I'd really rather avoid, I will consider that I'm truly blessed to be doing it.
I know that a simple change in thinking can put an
amazing positive spin on the experience.
We understand why children are afraid of darkness but why are people afraid of light? Plato

TODAY IS...COUNTRY MUSIC DAY
Singing stories began in the Middle Ages and moved to America with the early settlers. By 1900, stories sung to fiddles spread through Appalachia and the Old West. In the 1920s, radio put these fiddlers on the air and created a national audience for the music. "Grand Ole Opry" Master of Ceremonies, George D. Hay, called it "down to earth, for the earthy." We call it country music AND IT'S...Saint Martha Feast Day - The sister of Lazarus and hostess to Jesus is patron saint of cooks, servants, innkeepers, housekeepers, and lay sisters.

TODAY'S SMILE
A little boy walked out into a field saying, 'I'm the greatest hitter in the world!'
He tossed up the ball, swung at it, and missed. The boy yelled, 'Strike one!'
Then he tossed the ball a second time and missed, 'Strike Two!'
The boy checked his bat, concentrated very hard, tossed up his ball and missed again.
Then the boy said, Boy, I'm the greatest pitcher in the world

TODAY'S REFLECTION
Then call, and I will answer; or let me speak, then You respond to me. Job 13:22
In today's scripture, Job is in agony, having lost his possessions, much of his family and his health. But even through his torturous troubles, Job keeps a close connection to God and God answers him and blesses him for his faith.
Even more important then keeping a close connection with family, business and friends, is keeping a close connection with our Creator. Yet we spend hundreds of dollars making sure we have the wireless connection of cell phones, and many times we ignore the opportunity of the wireless connection of prayer that God has freely given us Cell phone connections can be broken, but God is utterly dependable.
