TODAY IS...MAPLE SYRUP DAY
Making maple syrup is the oldest agricultural enterprise in the U.S. A maple tree needs to be about 45 years old and 12 inches in diameter before it is tapped. A single tap will produce about 10 gallons of sap, and it takes 30-50 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of maple syrup. Wow

TODAY'S SMILE
A dog ran into a butcher shop and grabbed a roast off the counter. Fortunately, the butcher recognized the dog as belonging to a neighbor of his. The neighbor happened to be a lawyer.
Incensed at the theft, the butcher called up his neighbor and said, "Hey, if your dog stole a roast from my butcher shop, would you be
liable for the cost of the meat?"
The lawyer replied, "Of course, how much was the roast?"
"$7.98."
A few days later the butcher received a check in the mail for $7.98. Attached to it was an invoice that read:
Legal Consultation Service: $150

TODAY'S REFLECTION
... but even when I am afraid, I keep on trusting you. Psalm 56:3
Bible experts agree that this is part of a Psalm written by David, when the Philistines captured him. Surely that must have been a terrifying time for David, as the Philistines were barbaric people. David had faced the giant Philistine warrior and had slain him, when David was only a teenager. David continued in his faith and God brought him out of his troubles
Fear imprisons; faith liberates; fear paralyzes; faith empowers; fear disheartens; faith encourages; fear sickens; faith heals; fear makes useless; faith makes serviceable — and, most of all, fear puts hopelessness at the heart of life, while faith rejoices in its God
