ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

AUGUST 8th, 2007

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Nobody has ever measured, even poets, how much the heart can hold.

Zelda Fitzgerald

TODAY’S ACTION

Extend a kind hand, a kind word to someone in need.

TODAY’S QUOTE

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

Dr. Suess

 HAPPY WEDNESDAY !!

It’s OVER THE HUMP day !

We had lots of rain and thunder on Tuesday, hopefully today will be a little better. I have one of those weather radios and it kept going off with warnings all evening. None of the bad storms were where we are, but south of us. We are making up for all the rain we didn’t have in July and everything is looking a little greener around here.

I heard form DS#6 last evening. They are fine and will soon be celebrating their wedding anniversary. How time flies!

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…CHEESE CAKE DAY

I have no idea who invented cheesecake! But, we've got A great recipe to celebrate Cheesecake Day. This one is quick and easy. Surprise someone with a yummy dessert soon

No Bake Lemon Cheesecake

2 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs

1/2 cup butter, melted

1 (6 oz) pkg lemon jello

1 cup boiling water

1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese

1 cup sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

3 tablespoons lemon juice

1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk

1 (16 oz) can cherry pie filling

1. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter into the graham cracker crumbs. Press 2 cups of the crumb mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan. Save the rest of the crumbs for topping. 2. Dissolve the lemon jello in boiling water and set aside to cool. 3. In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar and vanilla together. Stir in the dissolved jello and lemon juice. 4. In a separate bowl, whip the evaporated milk. Fold into the cream cheese mixture, then pour it all into the graham cracker covered pan. 5. Chill for 4 hours. Top with the cherry pie filling. Sprinkle the remaining crumbs over the top. Keep left-overs refrigerated.

TODAY’S SMILE

Two sea monsters were swimming around in the ocean, looking for something to do. They came up underneath a ship that was hauling potatoes. Bob, the first sea monster, swam underneath the ship, tipped it over and ate everything on the ship.

A little while later, they came up to another ship, again hauling potatoes. Bob again capsizes the ship and eats everything onboard.

The third ship they found was also hauling potatoes and Bob once again capsized it and ate everything.

Finally his buddy Bill asked him, "Why do you keep tipping over those ships full of potatoes and eating everything on board?"

Bob replied, "I wish I hadn't, but I just can't help myself once I start. Everyone knows you can't eat just one potato ship."

(I know this was a dumb one, but a Smile was hard to find today)

TODAY’S WORD

auspicious \aw-SPISH-uhs\, adjective:

1. Giving promise of success, prosperity, or happiness; predicting good; as, "an auspicious beginning."

2. Prosperous; fortunate; as, "auspicious years."

But as Saturday fell on a very auspicious day in the Chinese calendar, every hotel in Nanjing was booked for weddings

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Your Word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You

Psalm 119:11

Obedience to God’s law is a spiritual safeguard from sin and its deadly consequences. But God has given us ample warning about the dangers of sin. Let’s apply daily what we read in His life-giving Book.

Thy Word is a lamp to my feet,

A light to my path alway,

To guide and to save me from sin

And show me the heavenly way
