ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

AUGUST 4th, 2007

 TODAY'S THOUGHT

Not what we have, but what we enjoy, constitutes our abundance.

 John Petit-Senn

TODAY’S ACTION

Express your gratitude for something good that has come your way

TODAY’S QUOTE

The best portion of a good man's life is his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.

William Wordsworth

HAPPY SUPER SATURDAY !!

Lots to do today! I got my laundry started last night so I’m halfway done with that. Today will be a little bit of this and that as I don’t have any thing major to do, but am whittling away at a lot of small things around the house. I also have to get out and do some grocery shopping so I’m sure the day will go by pretty fast.

Our weather promises to be pretty nice and only in the mid 80’s so maybe I’ll be able to get outside and do a few things too. I always have a long list and I’m usually lucky to half of it done.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…TWINS DAY

The term "twins" comes from an ancient German word meaning "two together." About 3% of all births are twins - and there are about 125 million twins in the world today. Every August since 1976, twins have traveled to a small town south of Cleveland for a weekend of socializing http://www.twinsdays.org/

(This year the Queens of the Festival were some local girls. Be sure to check out the link showing the Royal Court.)

TODAY’S SMILE

Laughter is indeed a gift from God.

Spare a thought for a groom at a recent wedding who knelt down with his bride in front of the altar after the exchange of vows and rings. Unknown to the groom, someone had written, “Help” on the sole of his left shoe, and “Me” on his right shoe!

It was all taken in good spirit! We can't laugh all the time, but when we can it is good to do so, especially with others.

TODAY’S WORD

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord. --Colossians 3:23

A friend of mine has a view of life that is summed up in one of his favorite sayings: "Wherever you are, be all there." That is, whatever your situation, be the very best you can be.

In today's Scripture reading, God told the people of Israel, who were captive in Babylon, to "seek the peace of the city," and to "pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace" (Jer. 29:7).

Instead of sitting around lamenting their fate and wishing they were somewhere else, they were told by the Lord to be faithful where He had sent them. We can't always choose our circumstances in life. We may not be able to change our job or location. Our situation may be difficult. But we can "be all there”

Wherever you are, be all there for God
