ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

AUGUST 12TH, 2007

TODAY'S THOUGHT

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

William Morrow

 TODAY’S ACTION

Hold on to what is good

TODAY’S QUOTE

Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.

HAPPY SUNDAY !!

Today our church is having a Church Festival in the parking lot and the Church Hall. DS#5 is doing his Caricature Sketches there all day. I’ll be praying that he will be in a nice shady spot as it’ll be around 90 degrees.

He has been quite busy with his part time job this summer. People hire him to do the sketches for all kinds of occasions. He has done wedding receptions, summer camps and reunions and even the ‘Red Hat’ ladies. Soon it will be back to school for him and a few other teachers in our family. Summer is flying by for sure.

I have decided to take it slow and easy today. More and more of my days are getting to be like that. After a full week of work, I can’t seem to find energy for much else. Somehow it doesn’t seem fair that work gets the best of me.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

 25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…TRUCK DRIVERS DAY

Today is a time to give a nice thought to all of those people who travel the road. Truckers move our mail, our groceries and about everything else - including, sometimes, us! They keep the economy going, but they also spend a lot of time far away from home. Today let's say, "We Love Truckers!"

TODAY’S SMILE

One evening a mother was driving her eight-year-old daughter to her grandparents' home for an overnight stay. It was late, there was very little traffic (a far cry from the usual chaos surrounding the roads during their normal rush hour driving), and they were enjoying a peaceful ride.

The daughter seemed deep in thought, and finally said, "I have a question."

"What do you want to know?" the mother responded.

"Mom, when you're driving," she asked, "are YOU ever the idiot?"

….the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be untreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

James 3:8

TODAY’S REFLECTION

At once the Spirit sent him out into the desert, and he was in the desert forty days, being tempted by Satan.

Mark 1:12-13

If you are going through a time of testing, just remember that when we continue to trust God, he will strengthen us and make us ready for bigger and better things.

But when we center on ourselves, crying "Poor me!" and allowing fear or anxiety to control our thoughts, we are blocking out wisdom and discernment I have to admit that I have been guilty at times of crying, "Why is this happening to me?"

But when I stop whining and listen for God's "still, small voice," I find answers to problems and I gain the peace that passes all understanding. http://www.dailyguideposts.com
