TODAY’S QUOTE

The secret of life isn't what happens to you, but what you do with what happens to you

Norman Vincent Peale

 HAPPY THURSDAY!

This is the last day of my work week. Tomorrow will be a working vacation day.

We got just a little more rain here yesterday and it’s been quite muggy outside.

There is just not much to tell. These have been quiet busy days this week just filled with work and not much else. Ordinary days are good so I’m not complaining.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…FLITCH DAY

An old custom brought to America by the early settlers became the holiday we now call Flitch Day. Once a year, a slab of bacon was given to any married couple who could prove they had lived in harmony and fidelity for the past twelve months. Very few "took home the bacon".

TODAY’S SMILE

Words are tools of communication. Unfortunately, words often have different meanings for different people. Here are some examples..... ·

It is in process - So wrapped up in red tape that the situation is almost hopeless. ·

We will look into it - By the time the wheel makes a full turn we assume you will have forgotten it, too. ·

A program - Any assignment that can't be completed by one telephone call. ·

Expedite - To confound confusion with commotion. ·

Channels - The trail left by interoffice memos. ·

Coordinator - The guy who has a desk between two expediters. ·

Consultant (or Expert) - Any ordinary guy more than 50 miles from home. ·

To activate - To make copies and add more names to the memo. · T

o implement a program - Hire more people and expand the office. ·

Under consideration - Never heard of it. ·

Under active consideration - We're looking in the files for it. ·

In the earliest stage of finalization - Haven't started it yet. ·

A meeting - A mass mulling by master minds. ·

A conference - A place where conversation is substituted by the dreariness of labor and the loneliness of thought. ·

To negotiate - To seek a meeting of the minds without knocking together of heads. ·

Re-orientation - Getting used to work again. ·

Reliable source - The guy you just met. ·

Informed source - The guy who told the guy you just met. ·

Unimpeachable source - The guy who started the rumor originally. ·

A clarification - To fill in the background with so many details that the foreground goes underground. ·

We are making a survey - We need more time to think of an answer. ·

Note and Initial - Let's spread the responsibility for this. ·

Let's get together on this - I'm assuming you are as confused as I am. ·

See me, or Let's discuss - Come down to my office. I'm lonesome. ·

Give us the benefit of your present thinking - We'll listen to what you have to say as long as it doesn't interfere with what we've already decided to do. ·

We will advise you in due course - If we figure it out, we'll let you know. ·

To give someone the picture - A long confused and inaccurate statement to a newcomer.

TODAY’S WORD

bibelot \BEE-buh-loh\, noun:

A small decorative object without practical utility; a trinket.

Bibelot is from French, from Old French beubelot, beubelet, "a small jewel, a trinket," from a reduplication of bel, "beautiful," from Latin bellus, "pretty, handsome." It is related to bauble.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to him who formed it 'Why did you make me like this?' Romans 9:20

One of the lessons we learn early is that life isn't fair. When troubles plague our lives, we say it's unfair. The Bible tells us about Jonah who thought that the wicked Ninevites should be punished. When God gave them a second chance, Jonah pouted and thought it wasn't fair.

Things don't always go as we would like, but we don't have to waste time moaning and groaning. You can make your life miserable by looking on the dark side and feeling sorry for yourself. Or you can look on the bright side and try to find what is good about your situation.

Look without, be depressed.

Look within, be distressed.

Look at Jesus, be at rest.
