 Native American proverb

TODAY’S QUOTE

Learn to say, No; it will be of more use to you than to be able to read Latin.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

HAPPY SUNDAY!

AND HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO DS#5 AND HIS WIFE !

May the dear Lord bless you both today and always !

Here’s a special thought about marriage today

A good marriage is the union of two forgivers

Ruth Bell Graham

Even the most devoted couple will experience a "stormy" bout once in a while.

A grandmother, celebrating her golden anniversary, once told the secret of her long and happy marriage. "On my wedding day, I decided to make a list of ten of my husband's faults which for the sake of our marriage, I would overlook," she said.

A guest asked the woman what some of the faults she has chosen to overlook were. The grandmother replied, "To tell you the truth, my dear, I never got around to listing them. But whenever my husband did something that made me hopping mad, I would say to myself, Lucky for him that's one of the ten!"

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…ZIEGFELD FOLLIES DAY

Florenz Ziegfeld was one of America greatest theatrical producers. From 1907 until his death in 1932, his Ziegfeld Follies were a highlight of New York entertainment. Famous for elaborate staging, he hired big stars like Fannie Brice, Eddie Cantor, Will Rogers and W.C. Fields. But, his trademark was the beautiful chorus line. Just as girls later dreamed of being a Rockette, girls of his day dreamed of being a Ziegfeld girl!

TODAY’S SMILE

A friend's daughter received an adorable airport play set as a gift. Since some assembly - which was actually a lot of assembly - was required, her father spent much of the evening putting together the plane, control tower, runway, the little baggage chute, and arranging all the pieces into a teeny air hub.

As he was nearly finished, his wife noticed he was frantically digging through the box and all of the packing materials. "What's wrong, honey?" she asked. "You are not going to believe this," he replied, "but the one piece missing ... is the luggage!"

TODAY’S WORD

acclimate \uh-KLY-mit; AK-luh-mayt\, transitive and intransitive verb:

To accustom or become accustomed to a new climate, environment, or situation.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. Exodus 20:12 This was the only commandment that promised something for obeying the command.

The Israelites had been traveling long years in the wilderness and hoped to reach the Promised Land. This promise shows us how important God feels about children honoring their parents.

Jesus was "on loan" to his parents from God, just as our children are "on loan" to us. We are all God's children and he loves us very much. It is difficult to face that empty nest, when our children go out on their own, earn their own living and start their families.

But when we have taught them to trust a loving God, we can let them go and give them into their Father's care. When we heed God's command to always honor our own father and our mother, we are honoring our Father in heaven and we shall be blessed.
