TODAY'S THOUGHT
Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don't recognize them.

TODAY’S QUOTE
Laughter is like changing a baby's diaper. It doesn't permanently solve any problems, but it makes thing more acceptable for awhile

HAPPY SATURDAY!
For the very first time in what seems like ages ago, I have no place I have to hurry off to this morning. I can take some time to wake up slowly and enjoy the morning.
It could be that I'll actually do some 'house blessing' around here today. Everything I had to run for got done on Friday on my vacation day.
Yes, I did get my SMILE back too ! They fixed my old partial and are making me a new one as they said the fix could only be temporary and would never last for any length of time. I also have 3 cavities and need a good teeth cleaning, so I'll be going back again for 2 more appointments. It will be so good to open my mouth again and not to have pull down my upper lip.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
25 WORDS
God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name
TODAY IS…PICK BLUEBERRIES DAY
Why are people eating so many blueberries? Because they rank the highest of all fruit and vegetables in anti-oxidants that fight aging. (Their powerhouse performance comes from the same substanace that makes them so blue.) They're also high in fiber, fat free and taste great.
GRANDMA’S BLUEBERRY PIE
1 8-inch pie shell
Pastry stick for top crust
1/4 cup sugar
1 15-oz can of blueberries in syrup
1 1/2 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 tablespoons butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2. Drain the liquid from the can of blueberries into a medium saucepan. Mix the sugar, flour, salt and cinnamon together in a bowl. Add to the blueberry liquid. Heat, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth.
3. Stir in the butter until melted. Add the berries and mix gently. Pour into the unbaked pie shell and cover with a top crust.
4. Bake 30 minutes, or until well browned.

Question: What is the longest word in the dictionary?
Answer: It depends . . . It might be . . .

A nonsense-word used especially by children, now chiefly

TODAY’S WORD
diaphanous \dy-AF-uh-nuhs\, adjective:
1. Of such fine texture as to allow light to pass through; translucent or transparent.
2. Vague; insubstantial. T
he curtains are thin, a diaphanous membrane that can't quite contain the light outside.
Diaphanous ultimately derives from Greek diaphanes, "showing through," from diaphainein, "to show through, to be transparent," from dia-, "though" + phainein, "to show, to appear." It is related to phantom, something apparently sensed but having no physical reality.
TODAY’S REFLECTION
Everyone who asks receives.' ~Matthew 7:8
We are always under the eye of a loving and kind God and never a harsh, cold or critical God. That is what prompted Jesus to say, “Ask and it will be given to you.”
Do we truly believe that what we ask for will be given? The following may help:
Ask God to guide when we are confused.
Ask God to provide when we lack.
Ask God to heal where there is illness.
Ask God to comfort where there is sorrow.
Ask God to strengthen for a hard task.
Ask God to lead when paths diverge.
Ask God to watch over those who are struggling, lonely or depressed.
Ask God to strengthen our relationship with another.
Ask God to open new doors and pathways in our own lives.
Ask God to transform a negative into a positive.
Ask God to help you to be really you.
