TODAY’S QUOTE

Write your plans in pencil... and then give God the eraser

HAPPY TUESDAY !!

We’ll have some rain today and the high temp of the day is supposed to be 68 degrees. Many in the south are still suffering from very high temperatures, but not us here in Northern Ohio.

Monday started off a little rough as my boss didn’t turn in over half of the employee’s payroll time cards until after 10:00. I began to get a little worried as it all takes time and I do have a time schedule to keep, but it all turned out just fine. I don’t know why I let things like that bother me. It must be because I’m a creature of habit and when things don’t go they way they usually do, it throws me for a loop.

I did hear from DS#6 on Monday evening and they are planning on joining us at the campground the weekend of the Fall Festival. That should be fun for them. They’ll stay in my camper as I have lots of room and also a furnace. It may be a little chilly by then. They usually camp in their tent.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protectionof our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY IS…TEDDY BEAR DAY

The "Teddy" bear is named after U.S. president, Theodore Roosevelt. The inventor of this lovable toy was from Germany - Margarete Steiff. As a young girl, Margarete was stricken with polio. She spent her life in a wheelchair and enjoyed making toys for the neighborhood children. They were so popular, she eventually started a toy factory. Her stuffed bears had no name until a cartoon appeared in newspapers with Roosevelt refusing to shoot a bear on a hunting trip in 1902

TODAY’S TRIVIA

1836 - Abraham Lincoln received his license to practice law

1850 - When California became the 31st of the United States of America on this day, cries of “there’s gold in them thar hills” had already been heard for two years. So, it’s no surprise that the nickname for the most populous state is the Golden State, and that the golden poppy (orange-yellowish in color) is the state flower. The state bird of California is the California valley quail. No, it is not golden in color, but is grayish-brown with black, white and chestnut markings. Sacramento, centrally located but far from being the largest city in the state, is the state capital

1926 - The National Broadcasting Company (NBC) was organized as a broadcasting service of the Radio Corporation of America

1956 - On this Sunday night, 54,000,000 viewers (82.6 percent of the U.S. television audience) turned their TV dials to CBS to see and hear 21-year-old singer Elvis ‘The Pelvis’ Presley. Elvis sang Don’t Be Cruel and Ready Teddy

TODAY’S SMILE

A couple were vacationing in Yosemite. The wife expressed her concern about camping because of bears and said she would feel more comfortable in a motel. The husband said that he'd like to camp and to calm her concerns, they'd talk to the park ranger to see what the likelihood of a bear encounter would be.

The ranger told them, "Well, we haven't seen any grizzlies in this area so far this year, or black bears, for that matter." The wife shrieked, "There's TWO types of bears out here? How can you tell the difference? Which one is more dangerous?" The ranger replied, "Well, that's easy, see, if the bear chases you up the tree and it comes up after you, it's a BLACK bear. If it SHAKES the tree until you fall out, it's a grizzly."

The motel room was quite nice

One more…

The Monday Afternoon Club, an organization of wealthy city women, met and decided that this month's outing was to be at a dairy farm. Most of them had lived in the city all their lives, and had never seen such a thing.

The day came, and the ladies filed into the rented bus, which whisked them off to their destination. On the way, they watched out the windows as the city squalor turned into lovely, unpolluted countryside. After they arrived, they were greeted by the farmer who invited them to look him up should they have any questions.

Myrtle, after looking about, and being amazed by what she saw, stepped into a building and viewed something she thought was quite remarkable. She saw the farmer walk by and hailed him - he sauntered in. "Sir," she inquired, "Why doesn't this cow have any horns?" The farmer cocked his head for a moment, then began in a patient tone: "Well, ma'am, cattle can do a powerful lot of damage with horns. Sometimes we keep' em trimmed down with a hacksaw. Other times we can fix up the young 'uns by puttin' a couple drops of acid where their horns would grow in, and that stops 'em cold.

Still, there are some breeds of cattle that never grow horns. But the reason this cow don't have no horns, ma'am, is 'cause it's a horse

TODAY’S WORD

cosmopolite \koz-MOP-uh-lyt\, noun:

1. One who is at home in every place; a citizen of the world; a cosmopolitan person.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Each one’s praise will come from God.

1 Corinthians 4:5

Everybody loves to hear a compliment now and then; that is, if it’s genuine. It makes us feel good about ourselves to have the approval or admiration of others—for a few minutes at least.

The apostle Paul, though, looked at what others thought of him or even what he thought of himself as “a very small thing” (1 Cor. 4:3). He said, “He who judges me is the Lord” (v.4). He knew that one day our hearts will be revealed, and “then each one’s praise will come from God” (v.5).

Could there be any greater compliment than this from our heavenly Father when we meet Him: “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matt. 25:23)
