HAPPY TUESDAY !!
This is the last day of September and tomorrow we welcome a new month. I’ve been fortunate in that it has been fairly warm here up until now. But the new month is bringing us some much cooler temps it seems.
A few nights this week we are supposed to go down to 45. I may just have to turn the furnace on. I don’t want to, but 45 is pretty cold. The sad thing is that once the furnace is on, it won’t be turned off until sometime in late April or early May. (if we are lucky, that is)
Gas here was the lowest it has been in a while. I managed to pay 3.66 Monday. I keep hearing about the southern states having gas shortages, but here there hasn’t been any. That is something to be thankful for!

Modern chewing gum was invented when "chicle" was brought to the U.S. (Chicle is latex sap - much like rubber). In 1870, the first flavored gum, Black Jack, was manufactured. Wrigley was selling Spearmint and Juicy Fruit by 1893. Chiclets and gumballs came in the early 1900s - and Walter Diemer invented Dubble Bubble bubble gum in 1928. The best news is that after WWII, chemists learned how to make artificial gum bases to use instead of chicle
