ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

SEPTEMBER 30TH, 2008

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Miracles are of all sizes. And if you start believing in little miracles, you can work up to the bigger ones.

Norman Vincent Peale

TODAY’S ACTION

Live with hope in your heart

TODAY’S QUOTE

There is no doubt that it is around the family and the home that all the greatest virtues, the most dominating virtues of human society are created, strengthened, and maintained.

Winston Churchill

HAPPY TUESDAY !!

This is the last day of September and tomorrow we welcome a new month. I’ve been fortunate in that it has been fairly warm here up until now. But the new month is bringing us some much cooler temps it seems.

A few nights this week we are supposed to go down to 45. I may just have to turn the furnace on. I don’t want to, but 45 is pretty cold. The sad thing is that once the furnace is on, it won’t be turned off until sometime in late April or early May. (if we are lucky, that is)

Gas here was the lowest it has been in a while. I managed to pay 3.66 Monday. I keep hearing about the southern states having gas shortages, but here there hasn’t been any. That is something to be thankful for!

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Just One Minute

When you are depressed, angry, sad, disillusioned, grieving, joyful, tempted, estranged, or in any other state of mind and heart, include God for just a minute. When you include God for just a minute, that minute is a little window into the infinite love God has for you.

When you include God for just a minute, that minute becomes the door through which Christ will walk to sit down next to you so He can give you peace, joy, comfort, and the incredible power of His uplifting love.

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY IS…CHEWING GUM DAY

Modern chewing gum was invented when "chicle" was brought to the U.S. (Chicle is latex sap - much like rubber). In 1870, the first flavored gum, Black Jack, was manufactured. Wrigley was selling Spearmint and Juicy Fruit by 1893. Chiclets and gumballs came in the early 1900s - and Walter Diemer invented Dubble Bubble bubble gum in 1928. The best news is that after WWII, chemists learned how to make artificial gum bases to use instead of chicle

TODAY’S SMILE

Deep Thoughts

When I was young we used to go "skinny dipping", now I just "chunky dunk".

The early bird still has to eat worms.

The worst thing about accidents in the kitchen is eating them.

Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Philippians 4:8

Through the all-knowing spirit of God within me, I have the wisdom and freedom to make my own choices. Spirit inspires me and encourages me to seek healthy outlets for my emotions and activities. During prayer and meditation,

I tap into an inner reservoir of divine intelligence and make a choice or come to a decision about the direction I am to take. I move forward with courage and optimism. I am free to live a life of abundance, free to explore new paths, and free to become all that I can be. Unlimited possibilities await me.

I live a life of wholeness as I soar with the freedom of Spirit.
