TODAY'S QUOTE

HAPPY WEDNESDAY !

Over the hump day ! I'm ready for the weekend to get here. This Saturday is just the beginning of a busy month ahead. The countdown is on ! Weekend after this I start decorating and getting the cards ready to send out. Thankfully, I don't do baking anymore. My babes generously bring Christmas goodies to share at our Christmas Feast and that's enough for me ! Any more than that would just go to waste.

It rained all day yesterday, and by evening today we have that chance of s n o w again.

Tonight is the prayer group at the Well Spring. I think after this session is over, I'm going to wait til Spring to continue. I just don't want to go out in the dark and cold evenings anymore. I'd hibernate all winter, if not for having to go to work.

Take good care all ! Another wonderful day on the Way !

TODAY IS... SIXTEEN TONS DAY

Tennessee Ernie Ford drove to the top spot on the record charts on this dayin 1955. Sixteen Tons, where he owed his soul to the company store, became the fastest-selling record in history, jumping to #1 in just 3 weeks. The tune, on Capitol Records, stayed at #1 for eight weeks. Ford was also famous for his religious albums, his NBC-TV show (1956-1961), and his many other television appearances. He was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1960. But, we remember him most fondly for that 1955 smash about work, work, work: You load sixteen tons and what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt.

TODAY'S SMILE

Nine year old Joey, was asked by his mother what he had learned in Sunday school. "Well, Mom, our teacher told us how God sent Moses behind enemy lines on a rescue mission to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. When he got to the Red Sea, he had his engineers build a pontoon bridge and all the people walked across safely. Then he used his walkie - talkie to radio headquarters for reinforcements. They sent bombers to blow up the bridge and all the Israelites were saved."

"Now, Joey, is that really what your teacher taught you?" his mother asked. "Well, no, Mom.

But if I told it the way the teacher did, you'd never believe it

 TODAY'S REFLECTION

Now the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God

Daniel 6:23

Today's scripture shows the result of Daniel's complete trust in God. When we surrender our life to the Lord, it doesn't mean that all troubles will be eliminated. We're still going to face trials and tribulations, but we are not alone, for God will be with us to strengthen us for whatever we face. When a child is taught to trust in his/her parents and in God's love, that child becomes confident in facing life's challenges and grows up to become a godly and productive adult.
