HAPPY ‘FINALLY’ FRIDAY!!

Our little group of Christmas Spirits will be heading out for a day in Medina going to a craft show, then investigating the local downtown shops and visiting the candle factory. For us it's much better than going to the Mall shopping !

I'll try and get some pictures to show you all tomorrow.

HAVE A GREAT DAY ALL !

ANOTHER WONDERFUL ONE ON THE WAY !

TODAY IS...SHOPPING REMINDER DAY

Today is Shopping Reminder Day, sometimes called Black Friday, the traditional beginning of the Christmas shopping season

Only 24 more shopping days till XMAS!

Okay, okay... we don't really know many days you've got to shop. Doyou live where the malls are open on weekends - and how about nights?

Still, it's time to make that Christmas list.

YIKES

 TODAY'S TRIVIA

Today is Cut Your Own Christmas Tree Day

1884: John B. Meyenberg of St Louis patented evaporated milk

1949: Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer appeared on the music charts this day and became THE musical hit of the Christmas season. Although Gene Autry's rendition is the most popular, 80 different versions of the song have been recorded, with nearly 20,000,000 copies sold

1973: Maximum speed limits were cut to 55 MPH this day, by U.S. Presidential order. It was an energy conservation measure and was also intended to save an estimated 9,000 lives each year

TODAY'S SMILE

LEFT OVER TURKEY JOKES

Home alone, a Kentucky woman was in the doghouse when she called the Butterball Turkey Talk-Line While preparing the turkey, her Chihuahuas jumped into the bird's body cavity and couldn't get out. She tried pulling the dog and shaking the bird, but nothing worked. She and the dog became more and more distraught. After calming the woman down, the Talk-Line home economist suggested carefully cutting the opening in the cavity of the turkey wider. It worked and Fido was freed

Taking turkey preparation an extra step, a Virginian wondered, How do you thaw a fresh turkey? The Talk-Line staffer explained that fresh turkeys aren't frozen and don't need to be thawed Thanksgiving

Dinner on the run. A woman called 1-800-323-4848 to find out how long it would take to roast her turkey. To answer the question, the Talk-Line home economist asked how much the bird weighed. The woman responded, "I don't know, it's still running around outside

A novice turkey-cooking chef wanted to know if the yellow netting and wrapper around the turkey should be removed before roasting. Envisioning a melted plastic turkey blob, the home economist responded, Yes, then offered complete roasting directions.

Then there's the time a lady was picking through the frozen turkeys at the grocery store, but couldn't find one big enough for her family. She asked a stock boy,Do these turkeys get any bigger? The stock boy replied, No ma'am, they're dead

As someone has said, If God had meant for us to fast on Thanksgiving, he would never have created 30-pound turkeys

 TODAY'S REFLECTION

O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water Psalm 63:1

The psalmist lived in an arid land where water was greatly valued. And we know that if we go hiking, or strenuously exercise, we need to drink plenty of water to stay healthy.

Today you and I live in a dry and thirsty land, where there are many searching for that living water that will change their lives forever. Though many in the world try to eliminate God from our lives, those of us who understand the power of God's ever-pure living water will never stop thirsting for it.
