TODAY’S QUOTE

I think the next best thing to solving a problem is finding some humor in it.

 HAPPY WEDNESDAY !!

OVER THE HUMP DAY!

Thankfully the first half of this long week is about over. Due to having a short work week last week, this one seems to be going on and on forever. Here at home there is always plenty to do so my evenings go by faster than the days.

The empty skunk traps were still in place when I got home yesterday evening, now they say they’ll remain in place til Friday??? The beagle continues to sniff around the steps so I think there is something still there but if it is, it’s not coming out or is avoiding the traps. It is a mystery for sure.

The weather forecast is now showing a chance of rain for Saturday. I just knew it was too good to be true that we’d have a weekend without rain.

This Saturday is Christmas in July at the campground and everyone is supposed to decorate their campsites for Christmas. Supposedly there will be prizes given. I’ll be sure to take pictures.

DS#5 and his wife will be returning from their trip late tonight. It will be great to hear all about their trip and see all their pictures. I probably won’t see them for awhile, but it will be good to know they are home safe.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Prayers have been requested for a friend’s SIL that he will be successful in his search for a job and also for his grandfather who is not doing well. Any prayers for this young man and his grandfather will be appreciated.

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY IS…MAPLE SYRUP DAY

Making maple syrup is the oldest agricultural enterprise in the U.S. A maple tree needs to be about 45 years old and 12 inches in diameter before it is tapped. A single tap will produce about 10 gallons of sap, and it takes 30-50 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of maple syrup. Wow

TODAY’S SMILE

There is a lovely Jewish story from ancient times about an old man who was in his hundredth year and who wandered into Abraham’s camp just before nightfall.

Abraham being a good Jew welcomed the man and offered him hospitality. While the food was cooking Abraham suggested that they pray together. Abraham raised his hands and his eyes towards heaven and began the evening prayer.

After a while he saw the old man worshipping the camp fire. Stopping for a moment he corrected the old man and asked him to direct his prayers to the Almighty. But the old man went back worshipping the fire.

This went on a few times and Abraham lost his patience and kicked the old man out of the camp. He went back to prayer “See Lord, how much I love you.” There was silence and then he heard the Lord say, “Abraham, I have put up with that old man and his unusual ways for the past 100 years and you cannot put up with him even for five minutes!”

Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself.

St.Francis de Sales

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Continue to live in Christ Jesus, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Colossians 2:6 -7

…the secret of our spiritual health lies in our times of personal fellowship with the Lord through prayer and reading God's word - unseen by the outside world.

When we omit this time with God from our daily routine, our spiritual life stagnates and weakens, like a neglected plant in exhausted soil.

Yet when we provide the right conditions, our faith exhibits new growth and our spiritual vitality is restored
