JULY 29TH, 2008

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Mark Twain

TODAY’S ACTION

Contemplate new ways to extend your voice and bring beauty to the world

TODAY’S QUOTE

Love is an act of endless forgiveness, a tender look which becomes a habit.

Peter Ustinov

HAPPY TUESDAY !!

Monday turned out to be rather warm with a high about 87 degrees. When the temps edge up to about 90 degrees, it sure does feel great to have air conditioning.

I did hear from DS#3 yesterday. He says all is well and quiet over their way. I guess I will never get to old to still be a ‘mom’. I do like hearing from my babes and knowing how things are going in their lives.

Work was pretty quiet and should be the rest of the week. I cannot foresee anything that will change much there. Still doing 3 days work in 5 days which makes for a slow week all the way around.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU!

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY IS…COUNTRY MUSIC DAY

Singing stories began in the Middle Ages and moved to America with the early settlers. By 1900, stories sung to fiddles spread through Appalachia and the Old West. In the 1920s, radio put these fiddlers on the air and created a national audience for the music. "Grand Ole Opry" Master of Ceremonies, George D. Hay, called it "down to earth, for the earthy." We call it country music

TODAY’S REFLECTION

The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field

Matthew 13:44

Jesus described the task of his disciples by means of parables in terms of human labor: planting, harvesting, fishing, baking bread. He told them three more parables to help them understand the meaning of God's kingdom. In the parable of the buried treasure the point is the great joy of the discovery that made the man willing to give up everything to make the treasure his own. Nothing else really mattered. The irony was that the treasure was found unexpectedly when he was going about his daily business.

In the parable of the priceless pearl, Jesus' point was that the effort to search for and attain the kingdom of God was of inestimable worth and nothing could be compared to it. Jesus' followers had come to value the kingdom as a precious treasure that would last for all eternity. Because they discovered its true worth, they could joyfully sacrifice everything for its attainment. Jesus further compared God's work to a dragnet that brought forth both worthwhile and useless things. Like the story of the weeds among the wheat (v 24-30), it was not the responsibility of Jesus' disciples to judge the actions of others. God would ultimately reveal what was good and what was evil in the world http://www.daily-word-of-life.com/
