ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

JULY 24th, 2008

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight.

Benjamin Franklin

TODAY’S ACTION

Show what you are made of and lead by example

TODAY’S QUOTE

No one is useless in this world who lightens the burden of it for anyone else

Charles Dickens

HAPPY THURSDAY !!

Today will be a long day for me. The boss has a day off and so I’ll probably be in the office from 7 this morning til 5 tonight. I’ve got my work all done so it will probably be clean the office day. I’m also going to take a book along for when I get tired of cleaning. I’ve got lots of catalogs to page through too, so maybe I’ll put them in my bag also.

Thursday evening Bible study was cancelled for this week as the pastor is on vacation. It is just as well because after my long work day I wouldn’t feel like going anyway. DS#5 and his wife made it back to the USA on Wednesday evening but their flight home was cancelled due to bad weather on the east coast. They called DD to let her know and will let them know when they’ll be rescheduled, hopefully sometime today, as DSIL is supposed to pick them up at the airport.

Tomorrow evening after work I’ll head off to the campsite. I guess my dulcimer buddy is planning on visiting us on Saturday. She’ll be in for a treat as we decorate for Christmas in July.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU!

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY IS…AMELIA EARHART DAY

Born July 24, 1897, in Atchison, Kansas, Amelia flew her first plane in 1921. Her name became a household word in 1932 when she was the 2nd person to fly solo across the Atlantic. In 1935, she was the first person to fly solo across the Pacific. Her next flight was planned to circle the globe at the equator. On July 2, 1937, she and her navigator disappeared at sea just 2 days short of finishing the trip.

Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace with yourself.

TODAY’S SMILE

Here is the modern version of the 3 bears:

It's a sunny morning in the Big Forest, and the Bear family is just waking up. Baby Bear goes down stairs and sits in his small chair at the table and looks into his small bowl. It is empty, "Who's been eating my porridge?!!" he squeaks. Papa Bear arrives at the big table and sits in his big chair. He looks into his big bowl, and it's also empty. "Who's been eating my porridge?" he roars.

Momma Bear puts her head through the serving hatch from the kitchen and yells, "Oh for goodness sake, how many times do we have to go through this? It was Momma Bear who got up first. It was Momma Bear who woke everyone in the house. It was Momma Bear who made the coffee.

It was Momma Bear who threw in a load of clothes. It was Momma Bear who unloaded the dishwasher from last night, and put everything away. It was Momma Bear who went out in the cold morning to fetch the newspaper. It was Momma Bear who set the table. It was Momma Bear who put the cat out, cleaned the litter box, and filled the cat's water and food dish.

And now that you've decided to drag your lazy bodies downstairs and grace Momma Bear's kitchen with your grumpy presence, listen good, cause I'm only going to say this one more time..."

"I Haven't Made the Porridge Yet!!!!"

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day

2 Corinthians 4:16

Some people are obsessed with physical fitness—daily workouts, vitamins, organic food—in spite of the fact that our bodies keep ticking away in inevitable decline. In our twenties and thirties we think we’re invincible, but in the decades that follow, the eyesight starts to go, then the knees, then the mind.

Let’s face it, trying to ensure long-lasting physical health is like trying to stem the tide with a pitchfork And while it is true that the older we get the worse we get physically, it doesn’t have to be that way spiritually. Believe it or not, it is possible to get better with age.

Many of us fear aging with all the trouble it brings. But when we are gradually stripped of everything that props us up—whether wealth, independence, health, dignity, beauty, or all of the above—we are left with more and more of God To get better with age, get spiritually fit. http://www.rbc.org

TODAY’S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER’S ALMANAC

The south wind warms the aged

60 DAYS UNTIL FALL !

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your Heart

Psalm 37:4

May there be a miracle in YOUR life today and may you have the EYES to SEE it!

I Love You All !!!

Be Blessed !!!
