ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

JULY 14TH, 2008

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Intense love does not measure, it just gives.

Mother Teresa

TODAY’S ACTION

Respect, and nurture those around you

TODAY’S QUOTE

You cannot do a kindness too soon because you never know how soon it will be too late.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

HAPPY MONDAY !!

Back to work today and of course it’s supposed to be a sunny day too ! It seems the rain comes mostly on our weekends lately. I don’t think we’ve had one solid weekend without rain since the beginning of April when camping season began.

This will be a short work week and that makes me happy. Friday will be a vacation day so I’ll be headed back to the camper on Thursday after work. 3 days off in a row are just what I need. I don’t even want to think about what will happen when camping season ends, It will be a hard adjustment for sure.

Tomorrow evening is our dulcimer get together for this month. It’s hard to believe July is almost half over already. Other than work that is about it for the week.

I hope you all are renewed and refreshed ready for another week. I am !

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU !

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY IS…PICK BLUE BERRIES DAY

Why are people eating so many blueberries? Because they rank the highest of all fruit and vegetables in anti-oxidants that fight aging. (Their powerhouse performance comes from the same substanace that makes them so blue.) They're also high in fiber, fat free and taste great

 1. In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonaisse, yogurt, marmalade, lemon juice and pepper.

2. Add the peaches, blueberries and turkey. Toss to mix until well coated.

3. Serve on lettuce leaves with crusty bread for a great summer meal

TODAY’S TRIVIA

On this day in 1946, Dr. Benjamin Spock’s Baby and Child Care was first published. The book quickly became one of the most widely-discussed books ever published -- and one of the most widely sold. In fact, Dr. Spock’s baby book sold more copies than any book other than the Bible

1976 Jimmy Carter wins Democratic pres nomination in NY

1962 - Bobby Vinton’s Roses are Red became the top song in the U.S. The song stayed at the top for four weeks and was the first of four #1 hits for Vinton. The others were: Blue Velvet, There! I’ve Said It Again and Mr. Lonely.

TODAY’S SMILE .

Go Cell It On The Mountain

Leonardo Diaz, a Colombian hiker stranded by a blizzard at 12,000 feet in South America's Andes, tried to call for help on his cell phone but found he couldn't because his prepaid minutes were up. Diaz was saved however when 24 hours later his phone company called to see if he wanted to buy more time.

"We called to remind him that his cell phone was out of minutes," said the Bell South operator who called Diaz. "He said it was the work of the angels, because he was lost in the Andes." Diaz was rescued seven hours later

ONE MORE…

The Ultimate Blonde Joke A blonde woman was speeding down the road in her little red sports car and was pulled over by a woman police officer who was also a blonde. The blonde cop asked to see the blonde driver's license. She dug through her purse and was getting progressively more agitated. 'What does it look like?' she finally asked. The policewoman replied, 'It's square and it has your picture on it.'

The driver finally found a square mirror in her purse, looked at it and handed it to the policewoman. 'Here it is,' she said. The blonde officer looked at the mirror, then handed it back saying, 'Okay, you can go. I didn't realize you were a cop

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

Philippians 2:4

Far too often, it seems, we limit the significance of church to what happens on Sunday. But the church is to be so much more. It is to be a safe haven, a rescue station, a training center for spiritual service. It is particularly to be an expression of the concerned heart of the Lord for hurting, broken people

TODAY’S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER’S ALMANAC

If the first of July be rainy weather, It will rain, more of less, for four weeks together.

70 DAYS UNTIL FALL !

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your Heart

Psalm 37:4

May there be a miracle in YOUR life today and may you have the EYES to SEE it!

I Love You All !!!

Be Blessed !!!

Thanks for your writing everyday!  You help me gather thoughts to inspire my office every morning.

Also, on a side note, check out the acai berry.  You mentioned that blueberries have the highest anti-oxidant content, but the acai berry (discovered by Western scientists just in the past few decades) has the highest concentration by FAR (I think 10x that of blueberries, or something absurd like that).  Dr. Perricone names the acai berry as the #1 superfood for anti-aging purposes.  You'll find it starting to pop up in more foods in America, but still has yet to be common, mainly because it can only be grown in the Amazon in Brazil.  Just thought you might be interested.
