As I’m typing this up one ‘old lady’ black cat is in my lap and the beagle is curled up in the chair beside me. Guess they are glad to see me at home too!

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY IS…PIG CALLERS DAY
Pig calling was once just entertainment at county fairs where you might win a cherry pie for your skills. Today, you can win the Pig Calling World Championship and end up on the late night talk shows. So, do you need to own a pig to be a world class pig caller? No, and here's the trick. Combine the best-known pig calling sound "Soooey" with your own unique twist - and practice, practice, practice. Also warn the neighbors!

TODAY’S SMILE
A man writing at the post office desk was approached by an older fellow with a post card in his hand. The old man said, "Sir, I'm sorry to bother you but could you address this post card for me?
My arthritis is acting up today and I can't even hold a pen." "Certainly sir," said the younger man, "I'd be glad to." He wrote out the address and also agreed to write a short message and sign the card for the man.
Finally, the younger man asked, "Now, is there anything else I can do for you?" The old fellow thought about it for a moment and said, "Yes, at the end could you just add, 'PS: Please excuse the sloppy hand-writing.'?

TODAY’S REFLECTION
Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.
Ecclesiastes 7:9
Today's scripture warns us not to be "quickly provoked." It is when we allow our emotions to control us that we act too quickly. If we take time to pray about the hurt, we can overcome the desire for revenge or confrontation. We can think clearly about what has happened.
The Bible tells us how to deal with hurts: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head" (Romans 12:20). Self–discipline is very difficult, but with God's help, you can do it! Marriages fail because of hot heads and cold hearts. Jobs are lost because of anger. Children are abused because of anger. Prisoners are behind bars because of anger.
Life can be unfair, but the choice is yours. You can get mad and rush into "battle" or you can take it to the Lord in prayer http://www.dailyguideposts.com
