ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

JUNE 16TH, 2007

TODAY'S THOUGHT

For hope is born when lilacs bloom rain-sweet in early spring, and faith that found an empty tomb can conquer anything.

Helen Welshimer

TODAY’S ACTION

Today, no matter where you look, know that God is near.

TODAY’S QUOTE

One of the things that my parents have taught me is never listen to other people's expectations. You should live your own life and live up to your own expectations, and those are the only things I really care about it.

Tiger Woods

 HAPPY SATURDAY!

I’ve got my good cup of coffee and as usual it always hits the spot early in the morning. I’ll probably spend a couple of hours here in my chair with the computer then I’ll be off to Dad’s about 10:00 this morning.

We certainly have had beautiful days all week long. It warms up to the low 80’s during the day then cools off enough in the evening that it makes for perfect sleeping weather.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…FRESH VEGIES DAY

Yes, fresh vegetables have the most vitamins. Cooking in any form decreases the nutritional value, so take a day to munch on them raw. Cut them up to serve with your favorite dip. Or mix 1/4 cup plain yogurt, 1/4 cup sour cream, 2 teaspoons honey and 2 teaspoons spicy brown mustard.

TODAY’S TRIVIA

Our Worth

Author Unknown

One day a father and his rich family took his son to a trip to the country with the firm purpose to show him how poor people can be. They spent a day and a night in the farm of a very poor family.

When they got back from their trip the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"

"Very good Dad!" "Did you see how poor people can be?" the father asked. "Yeah!"

"And what did you learn?"

The son answered: "I saw that we have a dog at home, and they have four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden, they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lamps in the garden, they have the stars. Our patio reaches to the front yard, they have a whole horizon."

When the little boy was finishing, his father was speechless. His son added, "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are!"

Isn't it true that it all depends on the way you look at things? If you have love, friends, family, health, good humor and a positive attitude towards life -- you've got everything!

You can't buy any of these things, but still you can have all the material possessions you can imagine, provisions for the future, etc., but if you are poor of spirit, you have nothing!

TODAY’S WORD

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Timothy, my dear son, be strong with the special favor God gives you in Christ Jesus. You have heard me teach many things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Teach these great truths to trustworthy people who are able to pass them on to others.

2 Timothy 2:1-2

We are being challenged to live our faith so that our grandchildren's children have faith! That means we live with passion and urgency for today, but we also live intentionally to pass our faith along into the future "generationally."

This generational approach to faith is not new to Paul. It was recognized throughout the Old Testament. ..(Genesis 50:23; Exodus 20:5-6; Exodus 34:1-7; Numbers 14:18-19; 2 Kings 10:30; Job 42:16-17)

TODAY’S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER’S ALMANAC

Don't work in the garden when plants are wet. This encourages the spread of disease.

5 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER !

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your Heart

Psalm 37:4

May there be a miracle in YOUR life today and may you have the EYES to SEE it!

I Love You All !!!

Be Blessed !!!
