ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

APRIL 22nd, 2007

TODAY'S THOUGHT

If I won't be myself, who will?

Alfred Hitchcock

TODAY’S ACTION

Whatever the weather or circumstances, know that darkness will end, dawn will break, and the sun will rise.

TODAY’S QUOTE

Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward.

Kurt Vonnegut

HAPPY TUESDAY

Yesterday evening we had a little rain. Thankfully the good Lord provided the water needed after fertilizing our yard yesterday.

Today we’ll be a little cooler and I guess that’s a good thing for the school children and their teachers. Those classrooms can heat up fast. There aren’t many air conditioners in the schools here.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, andfor the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…CIRCUS CIRCUS DAY

Circuses are the most enduring form of entertainment in the world. In the Roman days, they featured wild animal duels and chariot races. During the middle ages, a circus meant traveling troups that stopped in the marketplace with trained animals and acrobats. The kind of circus we know today began as a way to show fancy riding. Clowns were added to fill the time between riders, and the modern circus was on it's way.

TODAY’S SMILE

SOMETHING TO SAY TO CHILDREN

(If it comes from your heart.)

1. I love you! There is nothing that will make me stop loving you. Nothing you could do or say or think will ever change that.

2. You are amazing! I look at you with wonder! Not just at what you can do, but who you are. There is no one like you. No one!

3. It's all right to cry. People cry for all kinds of reasons: when they are hurt, sad, glad, or worried; when they are angry, afraid, or lonely. When they feel. Big people cry too. I do.

4. You've made a mistake. That was wrong. People make mistakes. I do. Is it something we can fix? What can we do? It's all over. You can start fresh. I know you are sorry. I forgive you.

5. You did the right thing. That was scary or hard. Even though it wasn't easy, you did it. I am proud of you; you should be too.

6. I'm sorry. Forgive me. I made a mistake.

7. You can change your mind. It's good to decide, but it is also fine to change.

8. What a great idea! You were really thinking! How did you come up with that? Tell me more. Your mind is clever!

9. That was kind. You did something helpful and thoughtful for that person. That must make you feel good inside. Thank you!

10. I have a surprise for you. It's not your birthday. It's for no reason at all. Just a surprise, a little one, but a surprise.

A hug is a great gift - one size fits all, and it's easy to exchange.

TODAY’S WORD

pre·sci·ent adjective

1. Of or relating to prescience.

2. Possessing prescience.

(Knowledge of actions or events before they happen)

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Folly delights a man who lacks judgment, but a man of understanding keeps a straight course.

Proverbs 15:21

We sometimes make mistakes because we foolishly rush into things without praying and thinking it through. The consequences are sometimes unpleasant.

You see, it isn't always how we Christians handle life's catastrophes. It is how we use our judgment and understanding in dealing with life's everyday problems. If we can maintain an even temper in the face of little annoying incidents, we are showing the world the peace and joy that prayerful living brings.

We never know who is watching us. Our children follow our actions. I have caught myself many times doing and saying things just like my mother or dad. We can reach more people with our lives than with a sermon.
