ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

DECEMBER 14th, 2005

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Nine-tenths of wisdom is appreciation. Go find somebody's hand and squeeze it, while there's time

Dale Dauten

TODAY'S ACTION

Make someone's day . Tell them how much you appreciate them

TODAY'S QUOTE

Here is the test to find whether your mission on Earth is finished: if you're alive, it isn't

Richard Bach

ADVENT

Turn to Me and be safe, all you ends of the earth, for I am God; there is no other!

Isaiah 45:22

Advent teaches us to celebrate the coming of Jesus in the flesh, born of Mary; to yearn for his coming in glory; and to yearn for and to celebrate his coming here and now—today, at every moment

This might be the time to start a "Praise Journal". Find a blank book or journal, sit down and list the items you are thankful for. Some people keep prayer requests but forget to put the "Praise", the answer to prayer. What about the special blessings that you didn't even pray for but the Lord saw fit to bless you with

Give a Christmas ornament for a Wedding or Baby gift. There are ornaments that are dated with the year or "Our First Christmas Together". You can even buy Christmas ornaments that can be engraved with their names and the specific date too

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!

We did not have anymore snow yesterday nor are we supposed to today, but Thursday will be a different story they say . Shovelable snow coming our way. The long range forrcast for Saturday still looks good. Cold but not snowy. I’m still praying for nice weather so that all the babes can come home safely.

I’m finished with the gift wrapping, now I only have to finish up the cleaning and get the rest of the groceries and then all will be ready until I start cooking on Saturday morning.

Dinner isn’t until around 5 so I really don’t need to start anything very early. I finally feel like Christmas might just come to my house this year…for a while there I thought the ‘Grinch’ might put a hamper on things.

Take good care all !

Have a great day ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS...BUY A TREE DAY

The Pennyslvania Germans introduced the Christmas tree to America. The first mention of a decorated Christmas tree was a diary entry dated December 20, 1821 in Lancaster, Pennyslvania.

Some people think the Christmas tree arrived with the Hessian soldiers paid to fight in the Revolutionary War, but if this is true, they kept the custom to themselves

TODAY'S SMILE

A couple phoned a neighbor to extend birthday greetings. They dialed the number and then sang Happy Birthday to him. But when they finished their off-key rendition, they discovered that they had dialed the wrong number.

Don't let it bother you, said a strange but amused voice.

You folks need all the practice you can get

TODAY'S WORD

Yule (yool) noun

Christmas, or the season or feast celebrating Christmas

TODAY'S REFLECTION

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal

I Corinthians 13:1

Paul is telling us that if we lack sincere love for God and for our neighbor, our words are as discordant as clanging cymbals. In other words, if we don't walk our talk, then our talk is worth zero Even though we are generous with money, goods and talent, if we do it grudgingly, it does no good.

TODAY'S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER'S ALMANAC

Caraway seeds keep pigeons from straying

7 DAYS UNTIL WINTER

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your Heart

Psalm 37:4

I Love You All !!!

 Be Blessed !!!
