ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

DECEMBER 11th, 2005

 TODAY'S THOUGHT

It is in our lives and not our words that our religion must be read

Thomas Jefferson

TODAY'S ACTION

Don't underestimate your power to change yourself.

TODAY'S QUOTE

I think we all sin by needlessly disobeying the apostolic injunction to "rejoice" as much as anything else.

C. S. Lewis

ADVENT

Our week begins with "Gaudete Sunday." Gaudete means "rejoice" in Latin. The spirit of joy that begins this week comes from the words of Paul, "The Lord is near." This joyful spirit is marked by the third candle of our Advent wreath, which is rose colored

Each night this week we want to pause in gratitude. Whatever the day has brought, no matter how busy it has been, we can stop, before we fall asleep, to give thanks

ADVENT WREATH PRAYER

Lord, our God, we praise You for Your Son, Jesus Christ, for He is Emmanuel, the Hope of all people. He is the Wisdom that teaches and guides us. He is the Savior of us all.

O Lord, let your blessing come upon us as we light two (purple) candles and the third (pink) of this wreath. May the wreath and its light be a sign of Christ’s promise of salvation. May He come quickly and not delay

This is the last day for posting Christmas Cards standard mail. Of course you can always pay for priority or patronize the delivery companies. So if your cards aren't ready by today you might want to be a little different and creative this year. How about faxing or emailing a Christmas greeting? You could even do a web page with your greeting. Here is mine

HAPPY SUNDAY!!

I’m off to church for my weekly R & R. I hope you are taking the time to bless your spirit today too!

The house is 50% clean and 100% decorated, a little of the wrapping is done and I’m on the way to being ready for our CELEBRATION with family next Saturday.

During the week, I will be picking up a few things for our feast AND checking my list twice - going to find out who's naughty or nice.. I’m looking forward to being able to visit with everyone once more.

Please remember to keep our Troops in your prayers. And DS#4 will be traveling this week for business, so please say a little prayer that he will have a safe trip too.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.

Protect them as they protect us.

Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need.

I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior

May you be Refreshed and Renewed for another week!

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
