TODAY'S THOUGHT

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then is not an act but a habit.

Aristotle

TODAY'S ACTION

Remember that remarkable achievements begin as thoughts

TODAY'S QUOTE

Don't walk behind me I will not lead, don't walk in front of me I will not follow, just walk beside me and be my friend

ADVENT

Though the mountains leave their place and the hills be shaken My love shall never leave you nor My covenant of peace be shaken, says the Lord, who has mercy on you. Isaiah 54:10

What a wonderful gift. In this season of gift-giving we are reminded of the continual gift of mercy the LORD offers to us. How unexpected! That is not the way we treat each other, yet that is the way we are treated by our God.

In a mere ten days we will celebrate the ultimate gift of God with us, Immanuel; wrapped in flesh, and insignificant, yet in the fullness of time the Savior of the world.

Advent offers us a time of reflection. A time to reflect on the gifts we have been given and what kind of gift we are to others. A time to reflect on our gratitude for the things we have, the people we have in our lives and the abilities God has given us, as well as our material gifts of food, shelter and security. God has given us these gifts for the service of God’s kingdom, not for our own gratification, power, or pride.

We are to consider the needs of others as well as our own. We should respect all people regardless of what they have or can do for us.

Send a get well card to someone in the hospital. Pray for those affected by war.

Kindness, respect, tenderness .......... do these words describe you or how you treat other people? Remember today that honey is much better than vinegar. One kind word given with love is like a verbal hug

HAPPY THANKFULLY THURSDAY !!

Now our weather man is saying a wintry mix possible today – only a couple inches accumulation. Wintry mixes are messy combinations of freezing rain and snow.

Take good care all!

Have a great day ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Doing my Christmas shopping early, replied the defendant.

That's no offense, said the judge. How early were you doing this shopping?

TODAY'S REFLECTION

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

The Jew longed for peace. He yearned for the day when swords would be beaten into plowshares. He waited for the era when Prince of Peace would come to end the incessant hostilities. So important was to the Jew was his quest for peace that the very word peace became a daily greeting.

Where we say hello or good-bye the Jew said simply, Shalom.

TODAY'S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER'S ALMANAC

Drop peeled apples, pears, and potatoes in cold, lightly salted water, and they won't turn brown.

December 15 - Full Cold Moon

Some Native American tribes called this the Full Long Nights Moon. This is the month when the winter cold fastens its grip and the nights become long and dark
