TODAY'S THOUGHT

Only by the grace of God

Can we gain self control

And only meditative thoughts

Can restore our peace of soul

Helen Steiner Rice

TODAY'S ACTION

Today if you have a difference of opinion with someone, disagree but don't be disagreeable

TODAY'S QUOTE

The whole inspiration of our civilization springs from the teachings of Christ and the lessons of the prophets. To read the Bible for these fundamentals is a necessity of American life

Herbert Hoover

ADVENT

Psalm 25:2

Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my savior. For you I wait all the long day, because of your goodness, LORD.

God is both Love and Truth; thus we can only speak with authority if we speak the truth lovingly. Our words will be known to be true when the deeds we perform come from the same source – deeds of truth and love.

Make something (bake a cake, draw a picture, cut out a cartoon) to cheer someone up or as a means of sharing the spirit of the season.

Generally the grocery store in the produce department has bouquet's of fresh flowers usually under $5.00. Even a single rose might be nice. Enjoy watching it open. Smell the pleasant aroma. Then just smile

HAPPY MONDAY!!

Back to work I go!

As usual I’m a day late and a dollar short on my TO DO List.

I made a list of what I need to finish and am posting it on my journal page. Hopefully this will help me get it all done by Saturday!

I did get my packages ready to mail off to the babes out of state, hopefully they’ ll have their gifts to open along with the rest of us on Saturday !

I’ll be charging the batteries for my camera in anticipation of lots of good pictures to share.

Have a great day ! Another wonderful one on the Way!

TODAY IS...OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE DAY

In 1531 a "Lady from Heaven" appeared to a poor Indian at Tepeyac, a hill northwest of Mexico City; she identified herself as the Mother of the True God, instructed him to have the bishop build a temple on the site and left an image of herself imprinted miraculously on his tilma, a poor quality cactus-cloth, which should have deteriorated in 20 years but shows no sign of decay 469 years later and still defies all scientific explanations of its origin.

An incredible list of miracles, cures and interventions are attributed to Her. Yearly, an estimated 10 million visit her Basilica in Mexico City.

TODAY'S SMILE

A little boy forgot his lines in a Sunday School presentation. His mother, sitting in the front row to prompt him, gestured and formed the words silently with her lips, but it didn't help. Her son's memory was blank. Finally she leaned forward and whispered the cue, I am the light of the world.

The child beamed and with great feeling and a loud, clear voice said, My mother is the light of the world

TODAY'S WORD

 shilly-shally \SHIL-ee-shal-ee\

adverb : in an irresolute, undecided, or hesitating manner

TODAY'S REFLECTION

During this time some wise men from the east came to Jerusalem and said, Where is the child born to be king of the Jews? We saw his star in the East and have come to worship him.

Matthew 2:1-2

The wise men traveled a long distance in loving peace to worship Jesus. Many of us must travel distances to have fellowship with our families. Travel today can be expensive and difficult, but love for our family causes us to want to be with them to celebrate Christmas

Even though you love them, you may not like things that family members do or say, but you have an opportunity to show all-accepting love by acting in a way that will bring peace and harmony to your family's Christmas

TODAY'S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER'S ALMANAC

9 DAYS UNTIL WINTER

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your Heart

Psalm 37:4

I Love You All !!! Be Blessed !!!
