ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

DECEMBER 2ND, 2005

TODAY'S THOUGHT

The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common things.

Henry Ward Beecher

TODAY'S ACTION

Appreciate the joy in this life in even its simplest forms

TODAY'S QUOTE

I promise to keep on living as though I expected to live forever. Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years. People grow old by deserting their ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up wrinkles the soul.

Douglas MacArthur

ADVENT

Let it be done for you according to your faith

MATTHEW 9:29

Many people scoff at the idea of miracles. Unwilling to believe that Jesus could restore the sight of the blind when He walked on earth, they are unwilling to see the miracles that Jesus continues to work today. If we are open to the guiding touch of God’s hand and willing to discover His plan for our lives, miracles will happen

Why not make a string of popcorn for the Christmas tree. You could alternate cranberry with popcorn. Or how about the paper chains you made when you were a child. If you would prefer, you can put the food decorations on a tree in your backyard and watch the birds feast on it.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!

Finally, the end of a long week.  I have only 2 weekends now to prepare for our family Christmas.  Will I make it???  We will see....

Son # 1 and family are getting ready to leave for Disney this weekend .  I will be praying for a safe and happy trip for them.  They may even get to see my SUNSHINE boys while they are there.

Have a great day all !  Another wonderful one on the Way !

James Naismith, working as a physical ed teacher at the YMCA, wanted to create a game that could be played indoors during winter months. He nailed up two peach baskets at opposite ends of the gym and gave the students a soccer ball - thus the game of basketball was invented in 1891

TODAY'S SMILE

The Perfect Couple

Once upon a time, a perfect man and a perfect woman met. After the perfect courtship, they had a perfect wedding. Theirlife together was, of course, perfect.

One snowy, stormy Christmas Eve, this perfect couple were driving their perfect car along a winding road, when they noticed someone at the side of the road in distress. Being the perfect couple, they stopped to help.

There stood Santa Claus with a huge bundle of toys. Not wanting to disappoint any children on Christmas Eve, the perfect couple loaded Santa and his toys into their vehicle. Soon they were driving along delivering the toys.

Unfortunately, driving conditions deteriorated and the perfect couple and Santa Clause had an accident. Only one of them survived the accident. Who was the survivor?

Answer: The perfect woman survived. She's the only one that existed in the first place. Everyone knows there is no Santa Claus and there is no such thing as the perfect man.

Women stop reading here, that is the end of the joke.

Men, read the next block of words.

Men: So, if there is no perfect man and no Santa, the perfect woman must have been driving, which explains why there was an accident in the first place.

By the way, if you're a woman and you're reading this, it only serves to illustrate another point, women never listen either.

 (I didn’t say that – not me…)

TODAY'S REFLECTION

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fearinvolves torment

 I John 4:18

When we identify and face our fears, our loving God will guide us to ways to conquer them A very good way to shine a light on your fear is to pray and ask God to protect you –He will !

If we put our problems in God’s hand,

There is nothing we need understand.

It is enough to just believe

That what we need we will receive
