ADVENT

For then I will change and purify the lips of the people, that they all may call upon the name of the Lord, to serve Him with one accord.

Zephaniah 3:9

In this season of Advent we marvel in the fact that God chose to enter our experience and become one of us in order to redeem us from the naughty list. It is no accident, but a divine and loving plan. It doesn’t matter if you used to be on the naughty list or on the nice list. What matters is choosing each day to believe, to follow, and to accept God’s grace freely given.

Next time you go out shopping for Christmas presents buy a present for yourself. Wrap it and put it under the tree. You can put on the tag From A Friend.

Maybe a new magazine or a book. But you decide

Celebrate Santa Lucia Day on December 13. Re-enact the story of a young European girl persecuted for her faith in the Middle Ages. Wear a traditional candle wreath in your hair, rise early to serve breakfast to your family Throughout Sweden the feast day of Lucia, or Lucy, is celebrated as a festival of lights.

In the early hours of the morning of December 13 a young woman, dressed in a white gown, and wearing a red sash and a crown of lingonberry twigs and blazing candles, would go from one farm to the next carrying a torch to light her way, bringing baked goods, stopping to visit at each house and returning home by break of day.

Every village had its own Lucia. The custom is thought to have begun in some of the richer farming districts of Sweden and still persists although the crowns are now electric lights.

Cleaning and decorating for the Yule festivities should be finished by Lucy Day. It would likewise seem to be a good idea to set out porridge or pudding for those who accompany her, or set an extra place for them at the table as well as welcoming Lucy when she comes bearing gifts.

HAPPY TUESDAY!!

A little more snow and continuing COLD weather today! It’s the time of year that our weather is like a broken record. I have grown to love fleece sweaters and shirts and pj’s . They are the warmest thing I own! Maybe I need to get more as I feel like I’m wearing the same thing over and over again.

Have a great day ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY'S SMILE

A minister waited in line to have his car filled with gas just before a long holiday weekend. The attendant worked quickly, but there were many cars ahead of him in front of the service station. Finally, the attendant motioned him toward a vacant pump. Reverend,"said the young man, sorry about the delay. It seems as if everyone waits until the last minute to get ready for a long trip. The minister chuckled, I know what you mean. It's the same in my business

TODAY'S REFLECTION

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in season, whose leaf also shall not wither, and whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:3

I think all of us love the time when the family gathers around and gaily put the multicolored balls and tinsel on the tree Your own life is a tree that is daily decorated by your thoughts and actions. You can add anger, worry or hatred each day, making your "tree" dark and gloomy. Or you can add faith, hope and love, causing your "tree" to glow with the light of Christ. When your life is decorated, winter and summer, with the love that Christ exhibited, you're a blessing to everyone.

TODAY'S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER'S ALMANAC

Felt weather stripping glued to the underside of rocking chair runners will cut down on noise and scratched floors

8 DAYS UNTIL WINTER

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your Heart

Psalm 37:4

I Love You All !!!

 Be Blessed !!!
