TODAY’S QUOTE

When we lose one blessing, another is often, most unexpectedly, given in its place.

C.S. Lewis

HAPPY WEDNESDAY !!

OVER THE HUMP DAY

Tuesday afternoon the rain started but today we should see some sun they say. Mid morning it seemed so dark that it was more like evening. I’m definitely in need of some sunshine here and it’s not even winter yet.

With the cooler days I’ve not only put the flannels on, but I’ve switched from iced tea to warm tea in the evenings. It hits the spot for sure.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…SHOE SIZE DAY

The Romans are the ones who invented shoe sized. They knew that barleycorns were usually the same length and decided three in a row equaled an inch. Shoemakers used one barleycorn, or 1/3 inch, for size increments. And this is exactly the way shoes sizes are made today.

TODAY’S SMILE

THE DRUM PROBLEM

There was once a small boy who banged a drum all day and loved every moment of it. He would not be quiet, no matter what anyone else said or did. Various attempts were made to do something about the child.

One person told the boy that he would, if he continued to make so much noise, perforate his eardrums. This reasoning was too advanced for the child, who was neither a scientist nor a scholar. A second person told him that drum beating was a sacred activity and should be carried out only on special occasions. The third person offered the neighbors plugs for their ears; a fourth gave the boy a book; a fifth gave the neighbors books that described a method of controlling anger through biofeedback; a sixth person gave the boy meditation exercises to make him placid and docile.

None of these attempts worked. Eventually, a wise person came along with an effective motivation. He looked at the situation, handed the child a hammer and chisel, and asked, "I wonder what's inside the drum?"

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 5:19

This verse is surely an encouragement to a choir director, and we all think of singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs in church worship. But how many of us take to heart the second sentence in today's scripture? I believe that it is a very important part of the Bible's message to us.

How many of us sing as we go about our daily chores? Music is healing. An infant cries and its mother sings a soothing lullaby. A little girl is frightened by a nightmare and her parent comes in and sings her to sleep.

The Bible tells us that King Saul would have violent spells and David could soothe him with the music of his harp (I Samuel 16: 23).

If we have music in our hearts and we constantly thank Godfor our blessings, we are going to have a positive attitude about the things that occur that day. For if we are thanking God for our blessings, we have to remember what those blessings are, and that will remind us of God's faithfulness.

So make a joyful noise and keep music in your heart
